Togg T10X: Turkish E-SUV wants to conquer the German market

The e-car market in Germany is highly competitive. Chinese manufacturers in particular are increasingly squeezing out Western companies, some of which offer impressive value for money. However, this does not seem to be stopping the Turkish manufacturer consortium Togg from gaining a foothold in this country. The Togg T10X, an E-SUV from the company, is due to be launched in Germany this year.

Togg T10X as the first Turkish e-car

The Togg T10X is a real first for Turkey. After all, the E-SUV, which was presented as a prototype in 2019, is the first electric car from a Turkish company. It is therefore fair to call it a prestige project. This is underlined by the extensive financial support from the state. The government is said to have invested more than 3 billion euros in the project.

The Togg T10X, which went into test production in August 2022, has already passed its maiden voyage with flying colors. After all, the vehicle has been on sale in Turkey since summer 2023. The manufacturer consortium now wants to build on the sales success in its home country of Turkey. The technical data sounds very promising.

Competition with the Skoda Enyaq and VW ID.4

E-SUVs are extremely popular. It is not without reason that the all-electric Skoda Enyaq is one of the top sellers of 2023. Apparently, Togg also sees this trend and is focusing on a design that is strongly reminiscent of models such as a Mercedes EQC, Enyaq or VW ID.4. According to a report by n-tv.de, it is precisely the ID.4 that Togg wants to compete with.

With its technical data, it could well succeed. It should be able to cover up to 523 km on a full charge. If the battery is then empty, it can still be charged with 22 kW via alternating current or up to 180 kW via direct current. Either one or two Bosch motors are to provide the necessary power.

In the twin-engine version, these offer a whopping 435 hp, which should then be able to accelerate the vehicle to a maximum of 185 km/h. The e-SUV should need just 4.8 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100. The Bosch brand is no coincidence. After all, Togg is backed by Mehmet Gürcan Karakas, a former manager at Bosch.

Togg T10X with its own currency

Of course, there is a modern infotainment system to marvel at in the interior, which underlines the contemporary character of the vehicle. Much more exciting, however, is Togg’s own currency. With the help of a kind of virtual coin, you will be able to charge the vehicle, for example. The manufacturer itself explained that the currency will also be coming to Germany with the release in fall 2024.
