TP-Link Deco XE75: Tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E system for home users unveiled

With the TP-Link Deco XE75, the well-known manufacturer is launching a new tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E system that enables fast connections in the 6 GHz band for home users. It provides three additional 160 MHz channels on the network, allowing a total of up to 200 end devices to be connected without loss.

TP-Link Deco XE75 in detail

Up to 200 end devices are said to be able to interact with each other completely loss- and interference-free over all three available bands thanks to the TP-Link Deco XE75 mesh system. The mesh system achieves maximum transmission speeds of up to 5,400 Mbit/s thanks to the current Wi-Fi 6E standard – as long as its own network allows it, of course.

Effectively, the use of the 6 GHz band is supposed to avoid the double occupancy of classic dual-band routers, which work in the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz band. Current models, for example, often share bands on the network with neighbors, which can lead to interference and slower transmission speeds. The 6 GHz band also provides a powerful dedicated backhaul to further optimize WLAN performance for non-6E devices, while 6E-capable endpoints are allowed to use the fast 6 GHz band exclusively.

510 m² coverage

Already two Deco XE75 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E system is claimed by the manufacturer to cover an area of a whopping 510 m² and that even through dense basement or exterior walls and completely without blind spots. If a third Deco station is added, even up to 690 m² of coverage is said to be possible. The AI-controlled mesh combines the entire network under one roof and always finds the best possible connection on its own.

High security

TP-Link HomeShield adds extra security to the Deco XE75’s networks. The tool is available in a free version including basic features, as well as a paid Pro version including additional features. Features include real-time IoT protection, robust parental controls, a home network scanner, and comprehensive reports and statistics on home network usage.

The tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E system can be set up using the Deco app. Once installed on your smartphone or tablet, a step-by-step guide walks you through the setup process. Additionally, the companion app lets you control all of the XE75’s functions and access rights.

Price and Availability

The Deco XE75 will be available in stores in early May 2022 as a single station at a price of 199.99 euros. Bundles of two and three stations will also be offered, priced at 349.99 euros and 599.99 euros, respectively. More information about the Deco XE75 is available on the official product website of the manufacturer.
