Vw Golf 8 Will Be Equipped with Amazon’s Assistant Alexa

The first models of the new Volkswagen Golf 8 will be on Germany’s roads at the end of 2019. The successor to the Golf 7, which appeared in August 2012, differs from its predecessor in terms of its interior, above all, in the new infotainment system and the significantly expanded networking. The so-called Innovision Cockpit,, which is standard in the Golf 8, features a new voice control system that also supports Amazon Alexa.

Competitor vehicles such as Audi, BMW and Mini have also been delivered with Amazon Alexa for several months now. At Volkswagen, on the other hand, the Golf 8 is the first model to feature Alexa integration. The voice commands make it possible to change music while driving, use the navigation system and remotely control compatible smart home devices. The Volkswagen We-Connect service, which the driver must first activate, is required for use.
