Withings ScanWatch: Hybrid smartwatch in RoseGold is coming

With the ScanWatch, manufacturer Withings bridged the gap between classic analog watches and smartwatches last year. The watch’s striking design and extensive health functions were particularly impressive. Now they are relaunching the box office hit in a classy rose gold color scheme.

Smart features in a classy look

As the world’s first clinically validated hybrid smartwatch, the Withings ScanWatch recently caused a stir. Developed by cardiologists and sleep experts, its extensive health features enable it to detect both the risk of arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation) and nocturnal breathing disorders.

Every 10 minutes, the smartwatch uses a PPG sensor to check heart rate, while alerts are issued for irregular heart rate. In addition to ECG, the ScanWatch uses SpO2 sensor to measure blood oxygen saturation.

Sleep monitoring, training modes for 30 different activities or altimeter are also part of the basic equipment of the watch, which comes up with a classic dial. The smart functions and fitness features, however, are displayed on a small OLED screen. In contrast to the Apple Watch, the Withings ScanWatch impresses with its battery life: the device is supposed to last up to 30 days before it needs new juice.

Now, Withings is relaunching the watch in Rose Gold color to draw attention to the medical relevance of connected health devices. As part of the launch, Withings is also donating 10 euros per watch sold for one month to the women’s health organization Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes, with which Withings will collaborate further throughout the year to raise awareness of women’s health risk factors.
