The date for Apple’s developer conference has been set. The WWDC 2024 (Worldwide Developers Conference) is all about new operating system updates such as iOS 18, macOS 15 and co. and is set to feature many exciting innovations this year and also address the topic of artificial intelligence.
WWDC 2024: Date set for iOS 18 and co
Apple’s developer conference WWDC 2024 has a date. The opening presentation will take place on Monday, June 10 at 19:00 German time, while the event will run until June 14.
In the press release, the company promises a first look at “groundbreaking updates that will be released for Apple platforms later this year”. The keynote can be viewed as a stream at apple.com/en, in the Apple Developer App, in the Apple TV App and on the Apple YouTube channel.
WWDC is traditionally dominated by operating system updates; new devices are not normally presented there. First and foremost is iOS 18, which will include a new home screen for iPhones that allows apps to be placed freely.
WWDC will also serve as the starting signal for Apple’s AI offensive. There is talk of a new Siri based on a large language model (LLM).
In addition, iPads, Apple Watches, MacBooks and much more will also receive new updates for PadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS. However, as always, Apple does not provide any specific details in advance.
The four-day event also serves as an opportunity for developers to exchange ideas with Apple experts. However, there will probably not be any new products, even if this is not completely ruled out.
