ZACO W450: Wet vacuum cleaning robot released

Vacuum cleaners were an innovation, and so were vacuum cleaning robots. However, neither of these instruments alone ensures real cleanliness in the home – wet wiping is still unavoidable and energy-sapping. Wet vacuuming robots are supposed to provide a remedy here. The W450 from ZACO is now also getting involved in this market.

Clean and safe

In ordinary cleaning, the cleaning cloth is usually dipped into the same cleaning water over and over again – which ensures a clean floor, but by no means hygienically impeccable. The W450 pursues higher goals: It not only wants to rid the floor of dirt, but also meet high hygiene standards in the process. This is to be ensured by a two-tank system in which fresh and dirty water are strictly separated. Only fresh water is supposed to get onto the floor of the apartment.

The wet vacuuming robot can operate in three modes, each of which covers different needs. In Path mode, the maximum possible area is cleaned once, while in Area mode only a predefined area of a maximum of 25 square meters is processed, and in Spot mode a small area is cleaned very intensively. From the weekly basic cleaning to the removal of accidental shoe marks to spilled sauce, all cleaning occasions of everyday life can be processed.

Navigation with camera and sensors

Features the robot is equipped with a camera as well as several sensors. Thus, the entire apartment is mapped, which should enable targeted wiping. This is necessary not only to prevent the robot from constantly hitting walls, but also to ensure that all areas are cleaned evenly. Without such navigation within the apartment, there is a risk that certain areas will be left out while others are cleaned twice and three times, which ultimately not only jeopardizes the achievement of the goal but also entails the risk of damaging the floor. The robot can be controlled via an app. In this, for example, the speed of the robot, the water consumption or the speed of the cleaning roller can be regulated.

As of now, the Suction Robot W450 is available from the manufacturer as well as from selected other online stores. The recommended retail price is around 350 euros.
