Scope of delivery

There are no big surprises in the scope of delivery. In addition to the squeegee and the corresponding base station, you will also find a bottle of cleaning agent, a strainer for the dirt container, a replacement filter, a replacement roll, a cleaning tool and the necessary paperwork. This is very similar to the package contents of its predecessor.

Dreame H13 Pro test: design and workmanship

If you look at the H12 Pro and H13 Pro in direct comparison, there are hardly any visual differences. This is not surprising. After all, Dreame speaks the same design language here. Once again, you get a household appliance with a color combination of dark and light grey.

The handle and control unit are located at the top. You can switch the H13 Pro on and change modes using the buttons. The button for starting the self-cleaning function is located on the back. The handle is very ergonomically shaped so that the squeegee always sits comfortably in your hands. The color display is located at the end of the handle. The clearly visible screen is located on the main unit.

This contains the fresh water tank (900 ml) and dirty water tank (700 ml). The cleaning unit and roller are located at the bottom. The Dreame H13 Pro scores points here with its rimless design (edge-to-edge), which should ensure thorough cleaning even in the area of skirting boards. The “Distinct Resilient Scraper” sits above the roller. This is designed to quickly comb hair out of the roller.

In contrast to its predecessor, there is also an LED strip. This should provide a clear view even in dark areas of your home. All in all, the H13 Pro also scores with a high quality of workmanship that can be seen and felt. But I didn’t expect anything else from Dreame. After all, the manufacturer has always been characterized by high-quality workmanship.

Dreame H13 Pro test: display and operation

Displays have now become the standard for vacuum cleaners. It is therefore not surprising that the Dreame H13 Pro also has a screen. You can read the most important data about the smart household helper on it. This not only includes the current battery charge. It also shows the cleaning mode and the results of the dirt sensor. You can track the latter using a ring around the display.

Operation is pleasantly uncomplicated. As mentioned at the beginning, everything is done using buttons on the handle. This is where you switch the vacuum wiper on for cleaning and switch between the four modes “Auto”, “Ultra”, “Turbo” and “Vacuum” as required. Most of the time, the smart household helper is used in automatic mode. Here, it automatically adapts to the level of dirt, which saves the battery. In Ultra mode, the water is specially treated and sterilized to combat bacteria.

The principle is familiar from the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro(test). In suction mode, the appliance dispenses with the addition of cleaning water and simply sucks up the dirt. This is practical if you want to vacuum up liquids. Turbo mode is completely new. Here, the appliance relies on maximum mopping and suction power to tackle even stubborn stains. However, there is no app as with the Tineco appliances. However, I didn’t really miss it during the test phase.

Dreame H13 Pro test: Practical test

Now that we have clarified the exterior and operation, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty: The cleaning performance, maintenance and other everyday experiences. However, before the practical experience plays a role, let’s first clarify what has changed compared to its predecessor.

Differences to the H12 Pro

Compared to its predecessor, the H13 Pro not only has a new cleaning mode called “Turbo”. Dreame has also made improvements in other areas. Firstly, self-cleaning is now not only more thorough, but also faster. This is made possible by the use of hot water and improved drying with hot air. Furthermore, the GlideWheel Power System is a new drive technology.

Here, the floor rollers are actively moved forwards or backwards by a motor, which should ensure better maneuverability. Furthermore, there is now not only LED lighting on the front of the mopping unit. There is also a practical roller scraper to remove hair from the cleaning roller. Will the new features pay off in practice? Let’s take a look!

Cleaning performance

We start with the supreme discipline – cleaning performance. Here, the H13 Pro leaves a similarly great impression as its predecessor. In the test, I was able to wipe up or vacuum up even stubborn stains without any problems. No matter whether it was dried jam or muesli with milk.

The H13 Pro passed my small test course with flying colors. The new features also pay off here. As the owner of two cats and a dog, I regularly have to deal with pet hair. For some vacuum cleaners, the tangled hair is poison and I can’t avoid having to clean the cleaning unit frequently.

The special roller scraper of the H13 Pro had no problems here. Finally, the metal comb skillfully frees the cleaning roller from hair. I was impressed by the two cleaning modes “Ultra” and “Turbo”.

While in automatic mode I had to run over the stain two or three times to remove heavily dried-on stains, they were gone in a flash with the powerful cleaning modes. It remains to be said that the Dreame H13 Pro takes the crown for best cleaning performance.

Agility

Great cleaning is only effective if you can actually reach the dirty areas. The special GlideWheel drive ensures plenty of comfort here. After all, your arms won’t get tired even after several minutes of cleaning, despite the rather heavy weight of the squeegee. The support provided by the motorized wheels works excellently.

In combination with the good grip of the wheels, the motor support ensures great maneuverability

What I don’t like about the Dreame H13 Pro, however, is its clunky design. And I don’t mean that from an aesthetic point of view. Due to the large body, it is not possible to use the squeegee lying flat on the floor. This means that it only reaches a few centimeters under flat furniture.

Models such as an Osotek Horizon H200(test) or an H200 Lite(test) show how it can be done better. However, these also offer smaller water tanks to make it possible to lie flat on the floor in the first place. As a user, you simply have to weigh up what is more important to you.

Self-cleaning

Like its predecessor, the H13 Pro also offers a self-cleaning function. To do this, you must first place the squeegee in its charging station. Then activate the self-cleaning function using the corresponding button on the handle. The cleaning roller is then rinsed thoroughly with water from the fresh water tank.

However, unlike its predecessor, cold water is not used here. Instead, the H13 Pro uses 60°C hot water. This kills bacteria and ensures thorough cleaning. The roller is then blown dry using hot air.

However, you don’t have to wait as long for the roller to dry as with the H12 Pro. The roller is completely dry after just 30 minutes. With the predecessor, it took 1:45 hours for the roller to dry again.

Dreame H13 Pro test: Maintenance

The remaining maintenance work is limited. It is important that you empty the dirty water tank regularly and continue to ensure that there is always enough fresh water available. The smart household helper will remind you of this via a voice message. You also need to empty and clean the dirt container from time to time.

The dirty water tank can be removed at the touch of a button

Solids such as hair, cereal or other dirt are filtered out here to ensure that only liquids end up in the dirty water tank. It is also a good idea to clean the charging station and the cleaning unit on the vacuum wiper itself from time to time. The tasks incumbent on the user are therefore really straightforward, which makes it even more convenient to use.

Dreame H13 Pro test: Battery life

Experience has shown that vacuum sweepers do not have great staying power. Even the Dreame H12 Pro was no marathon runner with a maximum battery life of 35 minutes. It is therefore all the more commendable that Dreame has given its latest model more endurance. The smart household helper should be able to last up to 40 minutes, which is a significant improvement on its predecessor.

dreame h13 pro test

I could definitely feel the endurance in the test. I was able to clean almost 80m² in one go without any problems. Dreame even claims that up to 400m² can be cleaned with just one charge. This impressive figure is most likely only possible with low levels of dirt.

Conclusion

Stylish design, great build quality, outstanding cleaning performance, high ease of use and long battery life – the Dreame H13 Pro is an almost perfect vacuum mop that is even better than its predecessor thanks to sensible improvements. This makes it the best squeegee I have ever had the pleasure of testing.

However, with an RRP of just under 600 euros, the newcomer is no bargain either. If you can do without features such as the LED light, an additional cleaning mode, better self-cleaning and the roller comb, you can save a lot of money by opting for the H12 Pro. Although it does not offer these new features, it also scores points with its excellent cleaning performance.

The Dreame H13 Pro scored particularly well in the test with its outstanding cleaning performance and ease of use. There is currently no better vacuum cleaner.
