Osotek H200 Lite Test: It fits under your furniture!

So-called mop vacuums are being encountered more and more frequently in households. This is hardly surprising given the high degree of practicality. After all, these smart household helpers skillfully combine a vacuum cleaner and a mop in one device. Those who mainly have hard floors in their own four walls should find the tailor-made solution here. However, many models also have a decisive disadvantage: their size. For example, the often rather pot-bellied devices can rarely be moved under furniture. Osotek is exemplary in this area. After all, the manufacturer manages to design its devices to be quite flat and flexible. This ensures that you can reach areas that are unthinkable for competing models. In today’s Osotek H200 Lite review, we want to take a closer look at another model from the company.

Scope of delivery

The scope of delivery of the Osotek H200 Lite turns out to be quite clear. Of course, you will find the vacuum cleaner itself. Next to it, you will also find the base with a matching power cord. The manufacturer includes a practical cleaning brush for maintenance. The whole thing is rounded off with a cleaning agent as well as the usual paperwork in the form of an instruction manual and warranty card.

Osotek H200 Lite review: design and workmanship

The Osotek H200 Lite is not the first mop vacuum from the manufacturer that I have had the pleasure of trying out as part of our test series. Already the Osotek Horizon H200 (test) could score with me in many respects. However, it was mainly the pleasingly flat design that convinced me. After all, the manufacturer outshines many of the competition’s models with it. Mop vacuums such as a Tineco Floor One S7 Pro (test) or a Dreame H12 Pro (test) come with an exceedingly thick housing. As a result, they barely fit under furniture, which is why you have to leave out many areas here, unfortunately.

The Osotek H200 Lite is in the same vein as other models from the company. So you also get a pleasingly flat mop vacuum here, with dimensions of 110.5 cm x 25.0 cm x 25.0 cm. A color combination of black and white gives the smart household helper a chic look, which I honestly like much better than the Horizon H200, which comes in an aluminum design. The design, in turn, is in line with almost all mop vacuums available on the market.

So you also move this model over your floors with the help of a handy handle. There are three buttons that you can use to control the device. The handle is connected to the main body of the household assistant by means of a rod. The main body contains a 750 ml fresh water tank and a 640 ml waste water tank. On the top there is a clearly visible display that provides you with status information about the device.

The connection to the floor is the cleaning unit at the bottom. A roller is used here, which is supposed to extensively clean the floor of dirt like a kind of roller. With its almost rimless design, it should also be able to clean areas at the baseboard almost without leaving any residue. In contrast to the Horizon H200, however, this is “only” a simple roller – not without reason, this is a “lite version”. Whether and how this affects the cleaning performance, we clarify later.

Osotek H200 Lite Test: Display and Operation

The Osotek H200 Lite scores with a pleasingly clear display. You can get various information from it. This includes not only the current battery status of the device. You can also see which cleaning mode is currently set. There are three different modes to choose from. Besides the standard and turbo mode, you can also select a pure suction mode. The standard and turbo modes use water as a cleaning agent. The suction mode, on the other hand, works without the addition of water. You should activate this mode if, for example, a glass of water has been tipped out. The liquid is then sucked in without further ado.

However, the suction-only mode also comes in handy for simple dust residue or pet hair. You can tell which mode is active by the respective icon, which is highlighted on the display. The display also indicates whether the dirty water tank is full or the fresh water tank needs to be filled. In contrast to other squeegees, you won’t find a color circle or similar on the H200 Lite. The Horizon H200 also has this. This is usually the result of the calculation of dirt sensors, which simply do not exist on the Lite model. So with the H200 Lite, you’ll just have to rely on your eyes to spot any remaining dirt.

The buttons on the handle control the vacuum cleaner. On the one hand, there is the power button to start and stop cleaning. On the other hand you can change the mode. A third button is located on the top of the handle. Its position already reveals that this should not be pressed during cleaning, but in the charging station. This is the self-cleaning function. During this, the smart household helper rinses its roller vigorously once again to rinse off any remaining dirt. Unlike higher-priced models, the H200 Lite’s roller is not dried with hot air afterwards. This can cause foul odors in the long run.

Osotek H200 Lite test: cleaning performance

Of course, the wiping or suction performance is the most important discipline of such household helpers. The whole thing is particularly exciting in the case of the H200 Lite, as this is a slimmed-down version, so to speak. To anticipate one thing: The H200 Lite provides good cleaning results. Light dirt, dust, pet hair and even coarse-grained dirt are reliably vacuumed. Only in the case of stubborn dirt can disadvantages be determined. In the test, I removed a stain with dried jam. The Horizon H200 cleaned this quite faster than the H200 Lite.

This can be attributed to the larger cleaning area that the top model has to offer. However, of course, this doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to remove stubborn stains with the Lite version. Rather, you should allow a bit more time for cleaning. I was able to remove every stain in the test after driving over it several times. What I particularly like about the H200 Lite is the almost rimless cleaning. You only have gaps of 0.6 and 1 cm on the sides. This means that there is hardly any gap left between the baseboard and the wiping unit, so you can enjoy comprehensive cleaning.

Osotek H200 Lite review: motorization in one direction only

With a weight of just under 5kg, the H200 Lite is of course not a light device. But Osotek makes sure with a practical feature that you can still move the smart household helper from A to B as uncomplicated as possible. There are two practical motorized rollers on the underside. These ensure that the vacuum cleaner moves across your floor as if by magic. All you have to do is point it in the right direction.

However, even here you can feel that this is an entry-level device. After all, the motorization only reaches forward. If you move the device backwards, you’ll have to rely on your arm strength. This is possible without any problems in practice, but other models simply offer much more comfort here. These recognize namely the direction in which you move the mop vacuum cleaner and support you specifically in this movement.

The comes everywhere

A big advantage of the models from Osotek is their compact design. The flat design allows you to maneuver the smart household helper skillfully even under flat furniture. Besides the special design, it is also the joint of the cleaning unit that pays off in practice. While even flagship models like Tineco’s allow a limited angle of just under 120 degrees, the H200 Lite can boast 180 degrees and thus lie completely flat on the floor. That’s a strong selling point that you wouldn’t expect, especially in this price range.

Considering the flat design, one or the other might be worried about the volume of the two water tanks. But we can reassure you there. The H200 Lite offers just as much space as the Horizon H200 with 750ml and 640ml, and even flagships like a Tineco Floor One S7 Pro with 800ml and 750ml can only boast slightly more volume. A Tineco Floor One S3 (test) even comes in with a smaller capacity at 600ml and 500ml, despite its thicker design.

osotek h200 lite test

In terms of battery life, you get a bit less endurance here than is the case with the Horizon H200. Thus, the H200 offers a runtime of just under 30 minutes. In comparison, the Horizon H200 has a cleaning time of 35 minutes. How long the device lasts in detail depends on the selected mode, of course. For example, the battery naturally runs out much faster in turbo mode than in standard or pure suction mode. Nevertheless, the battery capacity was easily enough to clean my test area of just under 80m² in total within 25 minutes. Afterwards, there was even a little battery charge left.

Conclusion

To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about the Osotek H200 Lite at first. After all, with a price of just under 260 euros, it is significantly cheaper than other mop vacuums. Can it still keep up with the other models? Absolutely! This starts with the design, which is not only visually appealing, but also offers a high degree of practicality. After all, you can clean under flat furniture with the very well-made mop vacuum, which even expensive flagships can’t guarantee like this. The cleaning results are also good. You should only plan a bit more time for stubborn dirt due to the somewhat small roller. The user comfort is also impressive. Even though the motorized rollers only support you in one direction, you benefit from a pleasantly uncomplicated operation. I only really miss a drying function in the self-cleaning feature. If you can do without features like a dirt sensor, large roller, hot-air drying and motor support in all directions, you get a really good price-performance ratio here.

With the Osotek H200 Lite, you get a budget-friendly mop vacuum, but it lacks some convenience features.
