Packaging and external impression

  • Usual cardboard packaging
  • Pre-assembled fans
  • Various designs

When we look at the packaging of the Lian Li GA ll Trinity Performance 360, we see three dark fans mounted on the radiator and a pump equipped with Infinity RGB lighting and the Lian Li logo. We are also shown the 5-year warranty, which gives us a certain sense of security. On the back, we are also presented with the three different pump design variants. The Dazzle Mode, for those who want it completely filled with RGB, the Sink Hole, which, as the name suggests, looks like a pit in the pump and finally the Duo Infinity Design, which offers two separate Infinity RGB lights.

Now let’s take a look at the exterior, where it is immediately noticeable that the fans are already pre-assembled, so that this step is no longer necessary during installation. They look massive and give the impression of strong cooling performance. All three fans are powered by daisy chain cabling, which means that we only have one plug to connect all three to the mainboard. The 27 mm thick radiator has single-shaft

Fins with 20 FPI (fins per inch), which restricts the airflow less and should lead to better thermal performance.

The pump of the Galahad II Trinity impresses at first glance with its elegant design. It is embedded in an aluminum housing that not only ensures optimum heat dissipation, but is also aesthetically pleasing. The high-quality workmanship is obvious and promises a long service life. The pump blends seamlessly into the overall design of the cooling circuit and gives the PC system a classy touch. With a speed of 3200 rpm, an optimum flow of liquid should be achieved.

Build quality of the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity

  • Solid workmanship

So far, there has always been little to criticize about Lian Li products in terms of build quality. This is no different with the new all-in-one water cooling system. The radiator is made of copper and is specified with a cooling fin density of 19 FPI. The fans weigh well on the scales and also feel solid and of high quality. We’ll find out more about the pump later, but the workmanship is also of a high quality.

Assembly of the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity

  • Feasible for everyone
  • Various customization options

Now we come to the installation, which, as usual with Lian Li products, is very simple and can be done by anyone. First of all, we use the supplied sockets for Intel or AMD and adjust our pump if necessary. The parts are simply removed with a not too strong grip and then the appropriate one is reinserted. Then we would actually mount the fans on the radiator, but these are already pre-assembled, so we are spared this step. This brings us to the first “small” negative point, the application of the thermal paste. In the past, our experience with most AiOs has been that it was already pre-applied and well packaged. However, it is not rocket science to apply the paste yourself, especially because Lian Li has supplied templates, spatula and thermal paste. Simply follow the instructions strictly so that there is no such thing as “too little” or “too much”.

Once these steps have been completed, it now depends on how you want to control the RGB of the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity. If the pump is to be controlled via L-Connect, you do not need to use any of the additional cables supplied, just connect the ones already installed. However, if you want to control the pump via a separate controller or motherboard, Lian Li will provide you with instructions on which cables to connect and where.

Now to the installation, we start with the radiator by mounting it in the desired area with the screws provided. Once this is firmly in place, we can also install the pump on the base provided. Then connect the cables and the assembly of the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity is complete.

Cooling performance of the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity

  • Strong performance
  • Quiet operation

Now we come to one of the most important parts, the cooling test. To do this, we pushed our CPU to its limits for 5 minutes using Prime95 and looked at the maximum temperatures. The test system contains the following components:

We came to the following conclusion during the test:

50% pumping power 100% pump power
72,2° 68,1°

The cooling performance ensures that we didn’t experience thermal throttling and definitely impresses with its strong performance. The pump of the Lian Li Galahad was almost inaudible and absolutely within a healthy range in terms of volume. The fans are also very quiet. Although they are audible at full load, they are very pleasant during normal everyday use.

RGB lighting

  • Quick conversion
  • L-Connect 3

Two different covers are supplied for the pump of the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity. Thanks to the numerous LEDs installed, all variations are shown to their best advantage. The factory-fitted attachment is the Duo-Infinity, which is designed to bring out the Infinity effect in two different places. This is particularly popular with us. The second attachment is a transparent ring, which can be customized with two inserts. The first insert should provide a special brightness, while the second mirrored insert should also trigger an infinity effect. Also very nice looking modification options.

The modification is done within 10 seconds and does not require any tools. The RGB lighting is adjusted via L-Connect, the configuration software from Lian Li. Alternatively, this can also be controlled via the motherboard, provided the necessary 3-pin 5V slot is available. The software makes it very easy to adjust the effects and pump/fan power. Everything is displayed very clearly and can be configured by anyone. To summarize, nothing extraordinary, but still nicely done.

Conclusion on the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity

Lian Li has once again shown that they live what they do. The all-in-one water cooling system offers a high-quality look and strong cooling performance. Variation options are also available so that different tastes are catered for. The simple operation via the L-Connect 3 software makes it easy to set up and modify the pump and fans. The actual installation is also not a major challenge, meaning that even non-experts will have no problems installing it.

In terms of price, the Galahad II Trinity AiO from Lian Li is a good middle ground. Price/performance was definitely taken into account here and we recommend it for anyone looking for a powerful and stylish option for cooling their CPU.
