Microsoft Copilot PCs: Surface Pro 11 und Surface Laptop 7 vorgestellt

Microsoft Copilot has been launched and brings with it a whole new category of notebooks and PCs. The company itself has unveiled two new devices under the Microsoft Copilot PC label: The new Microsoft Surface Pro comes with a 120 Hz OLED display, while the new Surface Laptop is a “MacBook Air killer” with 22 hours of battery life.

Microsoft Copilot PCs: New Surface Pro 11

The new Surface devices with the ARM chip from Qualcomm are official. Last night, Microsoft unveiled the new Surface Pro (11th Edition) and the new Surface Laptop (7th Edition), which feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus or Snapdragon X Elite.

After just two months, the new Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 are the successors to the models presented in March, which will continue to be sold. Under the hood, however, are the new ARM chips from Qualcomm, which promise significantly more performance – especially in the AI area – and longer battery life.

The Surface Pro 11 comes with a top-of-the-range 120 Hz 13-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels and up to 900 nits for HDR content. With dimensions of 287 mm x 209 mm x 9.3 mm and a weight of 895 grams, the convertible is very light and offers up to 14 hours of battery life for local video playback and up to 10 hours for web surfing.

Thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, it is said to be up to 90 percent faster than its direct predecessor and comes with up to 64 GB of RAM and an optional 5G modem.

Two USB 4 ports are offered, which can accommodate up to three external 4K displays. There is also Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. There is also a new keyboard called the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard, which can be docked or used individually and is designed to be more stable and larger than the previous model.

The new Microsoft Surface Pro 11 is now available to pre-order from Microsoft. Prices start from 1,199 euros, but then for the variant with Snapdragon X Plus and LCD display. The OLED model with Snapdragon X Elite starts at 1,799 euros.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 presented

The manufacturer’s second new Microsoft Copilot PC is the Surface Laptop 7, which is in direct competition with Apple’s MacBook Air. It comes in either a 13.8-inch size with Snapdragon X Plus or Snapdragon X Elite or as a 15-inch device with Snapdragon X Elite.

The smaller version measures 301 mm x 220 mm x 17.5 mm and weighs just 1.34 kg, while the 15-inch model measures 329 mm x 239 mm x 18.29 mm and weighs 1.66 kg.

There are also differences in the battery life: up to 20 hours of local video playback and 13 hours of web browsing are possible with the 13-inch model, while the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 in 15 inches offers up to 22 hours / 15 hours.

Both models have a 3:2 format display with a resolution of 2,304 x 1,536 pixels or 2,496 x 1,664 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Here too, up to three external 4K displays can be connected via the two USB-C ports (USB 4). Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are also on board.

The new Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 can also be pre-ordered from Microsoft now. It starts with the basic 13.8-inch model with Snapdragon X Plus, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD from 1,199 euros.
