Realme Notebook Air: Particularly thin notebook for under 500 euros presented

The manufacturer has officially teased a new laptop with the Realme Notebook Air. The notebook is supposed to feature a particularly thin frame and be offered at an affordable price.

Realme Notebook Air in detail

On the Chinese social network Weibo, the manufacturer has revealed the Realme Notebook Air, as Gadgets 360 reports. This challenges Apple’s MacBook Air to a fight, not only in terms of naming.

Especially the thin display edges of only 4.9 mm are an important feature. After all, they are almost half the size of Apple’s competitor MacBook Air M1 with 8.9 mm. Most of the specifications are still pending, though.

According to Fonearena, the Air relies on a 14-inch Full HD+ display that resolves at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels in 16:10 format. In general, the Realme Notebook Air comes in at a fairly low weight of just 1.36 kg.

It is also known that the notebook will be offered in two colorways, Star Grey and Sea Salt Blue, and will feature a stripe on the back with a checkered pattern that echoes the motorsport look of the company’s own smartphones Realme GT Neo 3 and Neo 3T.

Intel Core i3 11th generation and strong battery life

However, the Realme Notebook Air will not be a performance monster. Inside, an Intel Core i3 processor of the 11th generation does its job, which has a TDP of 28 watts at its disposal. In addition, there is 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM with a clock rate of 4266 MHz, as well as 256 GB or 512 GB PCIe SSD memory.

In terms of ports, the slim frame offers two USB Type-C (3.2 Gen 2) ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a 3.5 mm jack.

The battery has a capacity of 54 watt hours and is supposed to last up to 13.5 hours. Charging is also very fast thanks to 65 watts of PowerDelivery. The Realme Notebook Air is supposed to be fully charged to 50 percent within just 30 minutes.

Price and availability

The Realme Notebook Air is offered from an MSRP of 2,999 yuan, which is equivalent to just under 444 euros. Accordingly, the variant with double the system memory (512 GB) is priced at 3,299 yuan, which is around 489 euros. The notebook is now available for pre-order in China and should be available on July 19. It is currently unclear if and when the device will also make it to Germany.
