With the 8BitDo Ultimate C, the well-known manufacturer has introduced a new controller that is especially suitable for Xbox consoles, but can also be used with a PC. It features RGB lighting and uses a reverb effect for the analog sticks.
8BitDo Ultimate C presented
The 8BitDo Ultimate C is a revised, but purely wired version of the 8BitDo Ultimate, which has been available for some time. As the name suggests, the gamepad uses a USB-C connection with a detachable cable, which should extend its service life.
The controller is available in the colors Dark Gray, Dark Green and Orange and is based on the layout of the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. One new feature is the RGB lighting around the two analog sticks, the so-called “fire rings”, which can be adjusted in several modes.
On the underside, the controller has a 3.5 mm jack connection for connecting headphones, while the analog sticks are equipped with a reverb effect. This prevents the well-known stick drift problem.
the 146.7 mm x 103.5 mm x 61.3 mm 8BitDo Ultimate C weighs 216 grams and comes with a detachable 2.5 meter cable.

Price and availability
The 8BitDo Ultimate C will also go on sale in Germany on May 31, 2024 and will be available from Amazon, among others. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 34.99 euros. This makes it half the price of the wireless and otherwise largely identical 8BitDo Ultimate variant, which also works with Nintendo Switch, smartphones and tablets thanks to Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz connectivity.
