Acer did not only present notebooks in yesterday’s presentation. The popular hardware manufacturer also announced growth for its ConceptD series. In addition to the desktop solution ConceptD 300, the ConceptD 700 is an elegant 15.6 inch notebook.
ConceptD 300
With the ConceptD 300, Acer aims to bring a small and powerful desktop PC to the market. The manufacturer has obviously also placed great value on design. Due to the outward appearance, one immediately recognizes the family affiliation to the predecessors of the ConceptD series. The compact desktop solution comes in a white case. Acer uses a high-quality wooden panel on the top side. Thanks to the black front, the manufacturer creates a high-contrast and modern design. The design should not only look good, but also be functional. Thus, Acer has installed various ventilation mechanisms in the case. In addition to the side vents, there is a triangular air inlet on the front. With this, the manufacturer wants to avoid overheating and loud fan noises. The operating volume of the ConceptD 300 should never exceed 40 db.
But the small desktop PC is not only visually impressive, but also in terms of power. Acer provides the small powerhouse with a powerful 10th generation i7 processor, a GeForce RTX 3070 and 64 GB RAM. With this maximum configuration, the ConceptD 300 should be able to meet just about any challenge. Also for the appropriate storage space one can provide with the order. Here the maximum equipment is possible with an up to 4 TB large HDD as well as an up to 1 TB large PCIe M.2 SSD. The ports of the desktop PC are conveniently located on the front panel. Here Acer provides the compact PC with a variety of connection options. In addition to several USB 3.2 ports, there is also an SD card reader and a USB-C connection.
ConceptD 7
But the ConceptD series from Acer does not only include a desktop PC. With ConceptD 7 and ConceptD 7 Pro, the manufacturer also brings a notebook that is supposed to offer the performance of a desktop PC. The stylish notebook can be equipped with a 10th generation Intel Core H processor. In the full-featured ConceptD 7 Pro, Acer wants to give the ConceptD 7 a powerful NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 for impressive graphics power. But even the standard version of the ConceptD 7 is equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU.
According to Acer, the image presentation should also be convincing. The 15.6-inch UHD-IPS display should not only support HDR, but should also be able to cover the Adobe sRGB color space 100 percent. This makes the notebook also extremely interesting for image and video editing. To ensure that the ConceptD 7 does not get too warm during the creative process, the manufacturer has opted for extensive cooling capacity. The notebook has a total of three highly efficient fans. These are designed to achieve a so-called vortex flow. Here, cooling is not only effective but also quiet. After all, according to Acer, the maximum noise level is still a pleasant 40 dB.
Also in terms of connections, Acer seems to have thought primarily of creative people. After all, the ConceptD 7 offers Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C in addition to USB 3.2 Gen.2 connections. For the touchpad, Acer relies on a coating with resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. DTX: Audio is supposed to provide good audio quality even without headphones or stereo speakers.
