The Vero product line from manufacturer Acer includes many sustainable products like the Acer Chromebook Vero 514 introduced in August 2022. After all, the line’s focus is on environmentally friendly materials. There’s now a new monitor in the form of the Acer Vero CB273, along with the new Vero PD2325W projector and mouse and keyboard from the Vero line.
Acer Vero Monitor CB273
In the new Acer Vero Monitor CB273, as with the other products in the Vero line, certain percentages are made of PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic, OBP (ocean-bound plastic) plastic and recyclable packaging.
This is a 27-inch IPS monitor that features a full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). The monitor is made of 85 percent PCR plastic, and another 5 percent is added by PBP plastic.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not mention many concrete details. However, it confirms an accurate color accuracy of Delta E <1 for rich and precise colors. The TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe-certified panel reduces blue light to protect the eyes while maintaining the screen’s color accuracy.
Also offered is a KVM switch, thanks to which you can connect peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard directly to the monitor, allowing you to use them with multiple end devices without having to reconnect. In addition, the Vero Monitor CB273 offers a USB Type-C port that can be used to charge additional peripherals with up to 90 watts.
Vero PD2325W Projector
With the Vero PD2325W projector, you can expect an eco-friendly and especially energy-efficient projector, whose housing is made of 35 percent PCR plastic and whose packaging is made of 85 percent recycled paper.
The built-in LED lamp is said to have a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours and thus provide many years of service. At the same time, the manufacturer promises energy savings of up to 50 percent compared to conventional projectors with mercury-containing lamps.
The Acer Vero PD2325W projects with a high contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, a luminous intensity of 2,200 lumens and a WXGA resolution (1,280 x 800). It also supports Rec. 709 color space coverage of 125 percent.
Keystone correction is also offered, automatically compensating for vertical distortion. Ceiling mounting should also be possible without any problems. The integrated BlueLightShield also filters harmful blue light from the projection.
Built-in, Acer has also included a 5-watt speaker that allows audio playback directly through the projector. It also supports 24/7 continuous operation for public events or museum exhibitions.
Mouse and keyboard in Acer Vero line
Also new to Acer’s Vero line are peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard. The top covers of both peripherals are made of 65 percent PCR plastic and the bottom cover is 30 percent recycled marine plastic.
Both devices are also said to be particularly durable and also come – wirelessly – with a long battery life of 18 months for the mouse. The Vero keyboard is designed to last five million clicks.
The keys on both models are virtually silent, plus the Vero peripherals come in consumer and commercial variants, which also differ in appearance. The consumer model features bright yellow accents, while the commercial model relies on a more subtle, monochrome charcoal gray.
