Acer Predator at CES 2020: Line-up Expanded with Three Monitors

Acer presents three new Predator Monitors at the CES 2020, which will certainly make gamers’ hearts beat faster. One is the 32-inch locally dimmable Predator X32, the 37.5-inch curved display called Predator X38 and the huge Predator CG552K with a screen size of 55 inches. We’ll introduce the Acer Predator monitors in detail.

Predator X32

First of all, let’s look at the Predator X32 with NVIDIA G-SYNC Ultimate. The 32 inch IPS display has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and a locally dimmable mini LED panel with 1,152 zones and a VESA-certified displayHDR 400 panel with up to 720 Nits brightness.

With 10-bit colors and a color accuracy of Delta E <1, the monitor covers 99 percent of AdobeRGB and 89.5 percent of the Rec. 2020 color space. In addition, the manufacturer also specifies a lightning-fast refresh rate of 144 Hz, which is intended to guarantee a particularly smooth display. High refresh rates are particularly suitable for gaming monitors.

Overall, the device can be swivelled on its stand and the height can also be adjusted as desired. The Predator X32 offers three HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 for connecting PCs and four USB 3.0 ports. The monitor also has two 4-Watt stereo speakers.

Predator X38

The 37.5 inch Ultra WQHD monitor with a resolution of 3,840 x 1,600 pixels is the only curved display in this Predator line-up. With a curvature of 2300R, it supports NVIDIA G-SYNC for smooth gameplay, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification is designed to ensure excellent brightness and high contrast. This display also has a color accuracy of Delta E <1 and 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

As far as the screen refresh rate is concerned, the Predator X38 goes a bit further. According to the manufacturer, it should have an overclockable refresh rate of up to 175 Hz and a reaction time of 1 ms in overdrive mode.

With the ergonomic stand, users can tilt the monitor from -5 to 25 degrees, pan +/- 30 degrees and adjust the height by 13 cm. HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 allow connection to a
variety of systems, while four USB 3.0 ports provide fast connection to accessories and other devices. The monitor is also equipped with two 7-watt speakers.

Predator CG552K

The new Predator CG552K will be a big hit with its gigantic 55-inch 4K OLED panel with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, making it the gamers’ dream. But can the rest of the equipment keep up with it?

The VESA-certified DisplayHDR 400 panel has a brightness of up to 400 nits and here, too, a color accuracy of Delta E <1 and 98.5 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space prevail. The monitor is suitable for both PC and console gamers, as it supports HDMI VRR and thus guarantees smooth image reproduction. Here too, the manufacturer specifies a fast 144 Hz refresh rate with a response time of 0.5 ms, as well as Adaptive Sync.

The device is made really smart by an energy-saving technology in which a sensor detects the lighting conditions in the room and automatically adjusts the display brightness. A built-in proximity sensor in turn
monitors movement in front of the monitor and automatically switches between power and standby mode depending on whether it detects anything.

The Monitor Predator CG552K really does have an extensive range of connectivity options for a variety of systems, consoles and peripherals. These include three HDMI 2.0 ports and two display ports,
one USB Type C port and two USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. Two 10-Watt speakers and adjustable light strips are also built in.
