Apple: rolling feet for the Mac Pro more expensive than many PCs

Apple has done it again. Media attention due to totally exaggerated prices. What is it about this time? The Apple Mac Pro Wheel Kit to put the Mac Pro on wheels. And no, it’s not April Fools’ Day again.

Until now, it was not possible to retrofit the steel wheels for the Mac Pro. There was a surcharge of 500 Euro when ordering the PC. For four steel rollers with which the PC can be rolled over the floor.

But it gets even better. Now there is an upgrade kit for which Apple is calling for a whole 850 euros. That’s another 350 euros more than if you order it directly. That is more than 210 Euros per steel wheel.

And it doesn’t even include everything you need for mounting. For example, a 1/4″ to 4 mm hexagonal bit is included, but there are other tools needed for mounting, as Apple writes. But what you need is not written by the manufacturer on their product page.

The Mac Pro stands 2.5 cm higher due to the steel rollers than the feet. If a purchase is possible despite the high price, you should be aware that the steel rollers do not even have stoppers. If the floor is uneven, the Mac Pro will simply roll away. Who knows, maybe Apple will offer a matching wedge for 1000 Euros in the future?
