ASUS ROG NUC: Mini PC with GeForce RTX 4070 launches at a high price

ASUS presented a whole range of exciting mini PCs at CES 2024 at the beginning of the year. These included several models from the NUC series after the manufacturer took over the series from Intel in October 2023. With the ASUS ROG NUC, an exciting, gaming-ready mini PC is now being launched. However, the Intel Core Ultra 9 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 come at a price.

ASUS ROG NUC shows up at first retailer

In October 2023, ASUS took over the Mini PCs from the NUC division of Intel’s Next Unit of Computing (NUC) and announced a number of new Mini PCs at CES 2024. These included a variant from its own gaming label Republic of Gamers (ROG).

The ROG NUC comes with powerful features. This includes an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H from the Meteor Lake series with 16 cores and clock speeds of 3.8 – 5.1 GHz, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU (with up to 140 watts TGP) and up to 32 GB DDR5 RAM.

This promises brute gaming performance that is likely to significantly outperform other mini PCs. The Geekom A7 recently delivered impressive performance data in our test and allowed us to play modern titles smoothly.

Up to three M.2 2280 SSDs can be accommodated in the small 270 mm x 180 mm x 50 mm and 800 gram light computing dwarf, which also has Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.5 GBit LAN.

The manufacturer equips the ASUS ROG NUC with a whole range of modern connections. These include one Thunderbolt 4, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4a and RJ45 LAN.

AURA Sync RGB lighting is just as important as effective cooling. According to the manufacturer, a powerful vapor chamber with a heat pipe design should keep the waste heat in check and thus enable effective cooling when the Mini PC is installed vertically or horizontally.

Alternatively, ASUS also offers the ROG NUC in a slightly weaker configuration with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and provides all the details on its own website.

ASUS ROG NUC: Launch on April 10 for 2,499 euros?

While all the specifications of the ASUS ROG NUC have already been determined, the manufacturer has not yet commented on the price or availability. Specifically, the Mini PCs of both versions are now listed for the first time on the Danish online store Proshop, which promises availability from April 10, 2024.

Accordingly, the ROG NUC 14 with Core Ultra 9 and RTX 4070 will be offered for a price of €2,499.00, while the variant with Core Ultra 7 and RTX 4060 will start at €2,094.01, according to Proshop.

However, prices and availability of the ASUS ROG NUC should be treated with caution, as the manufacturer has not yet commented on them. However, the listing at least indicates that the announcement and market launch are imminent.
