ASUS announces the launch of a new gaming monitor. The ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS features a 27-inch screen diagonal, 1440p resolution and a refresh rate of 180 Hz at a fair price and is available now.
The ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS in detail
The ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS is aimed at gamers who value a high refresh rate. The monitor is equipped with an anti-glare, 27-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and a refresh rate of 180 hertz.
The contrast ratio is a typical IPS 1,000:1, while the monitor scores with wide viewing angles and a DCI-P3 color space coverage of 97%. The response time for the gray-to-gray transition is 1 millisecond.
ASUS does not provide details on the maximum brightness, but the monitor has DisplayHDR400 certification. It also features a few exciting technologies that are designed to improve image quality.

Smart technologies
The ASUS Variable Overdrive 2.0 technology, for example, enables the overdrive settings to be changed dynamically when the frame rate fluctuates in order to always achieve the best possible image. A total of 20 settings are available to prevent ghosting and enable a particularly smooth display.
The GamePlus technology of the ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS also relies on artificial intelligence and should be able to analyze scenes in real time and adjust a crosshair to improve accuracy. The Dynamic Shadow Boost brightens up dark areas and should therefore offer a real advantage in shooters and other titles.
In terms of connections, the XG27ACS is well equipped. DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and USB Type C (with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery) are available once each. The ASUS DisplayWidget Center on-screen display also allows settings to be adjusted using the mouse.
