Hardware manufacturer Asus equips its two convertibles with a new display and a larger battery. In addition to a 4K OLED touchscreen, Asus also provides the ZenBook Flip 13 with a 67 Wh battery.
The technical highlights
Asus has introduced the new ZenBooks Flip 13 (UX363) and Flip 15 (UX564). The two convertibles are to receive the Tiger Lake and the Xe from Intel. Processor and graphics chip should not only provide a decent performance, but also the appropriate graphics. So that you can finally enjoy them visually, the two upcoming ZenBooks are optionally available with an OLED display in crisp 4K. Thanks to Thunderbolt 4, the two practical companions should also offer a high level of compatibility.
4K OLED is optional
There is no need to reach for the premium version with the high-quality OLED display. Asus not only pursues this choice strategy with the Asus ZenBook Flip S, but also with the other two representatives in 13 and 15 inches respectively. But those who want to benefit from high contrasts and vivid colors should choose the models with OLED. These should be able to display 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. They have already received the corresponding certification from TÜV Rheinland. Of course, ZenBook Flip 13 and 15 have a touchscreen. There is also compatibility with the already available Asus Active Stylus.
Unfortunately the manufacturer has not yet published a complete data sheet for the upcoming convertibles. Accordingly, except for processor and graphics chip, much is still unknown. If one should decide for the larger model, one can probably optionally choose an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. In addition, up to 16 GB RAM and an SSD (PCIe 3.0) up to 1 TB memory size are optionally available.
Lasting battery
So far Asus has only released information about the battery of the ZenBook Flips 13. The smaller convertible is supposed to have a battery with 67 Wh. This should make runtimes of up to 14 hours possible. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything more about the ZenBook 15 yet. The battery can be charged via a modern USB-C connection. The corresponding charger offers a power of 65 watts and is already included in the scope of delivery. The ErgoLift hinge, which was especially developed by Asus, should ensure a good typing feel and cooling.
Prices and availability
Manufacturer Asus is also keeping a low profile when it comes to release and price. Partially at least. Thus we know that the ZenBook Flip 13 will come at the end of the yearly on the market and is to have a UVP of 1799 euro. To the Flip 15 we know so far still nothing closer.
