The high-end model of the Smart Soundbar 900 is now followed by a cheaper and more compact sibling from Bose. The new Bose Smart Soundbar 600 offers Dolby Atmos sound and is available now for only around 559 euros.

The new Bose Smart Soundbar 600 wants to deliver in terms of sound while costing only about half as much as the 900 model. With a size of 5.61 cm x 69.4 cm x 10.4 cm (height x width x depth), it turns out to be significantly shorter than its big brother, which comes in at 104.5 cm in length. The weight of 3.13 kg (compared to 5.75 kg) is also significantly lower.
The new model relies on high-quality plastic for the case, as well as a metal cover grille. This saves costs compared to the 900, which is made of high-quality glass.
However, you should hardly have to accept any compromises in terms of sound, because the new Bose Smart Soundbar 600 also wants to score with a breathtaking sound in Dolby Atmos. In combination with the TrueSpace technology and upwards radiating sound transducer, the manufacturer promises a rich, room-filling sound without any additional speakers.
This is said to realize a unique spatiality, where instrumentation, dialogue and effects are separated from each other and presented in a clearly locatable manner throughout the room.
Five speakers for a hallelujah
In total, the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 accommodates a full five speakers that deliver sound horizontally around the room on the sides, as well as upwards to the ceiling, where it is reflected, creating a realistic surround sound. The 900, by comparison, has nine speakers.
The intelligent Bose TrueSpace technology analyzes the content you’re watching, as well as all other signals as Atmos, and converts them into a room-filling multi-channel experience. Alternatively, the soundbar can also be paired with a subwoofer, either via cable or wirelessly.
In terms of connectivity, the Soundbar 600 is also well positioned and connects to TVs, game consoles and more via HDMI eARC or an optical input. Wirelessly, the soundbar also supports Bluetooth 4.2 with a range of up to 9 meters and is thus able to play content from smartphones and other mobile devices.
Setup and fine-tuning is also said to be particularly simple and intuitive with the help of the free Bose Music App. It also allows you to select your preferred voice assistant and group compatible Wi-Fi enabled products.
The smart soundbar also works with Apple AirPlay 2, has Spotify Connect and integrates Chromecast. It can also be operated via voice control using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
An IR remote control is of course also included, which controls volume, play/pause, Bluetooth and much more.

The new Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is now available for pre-order directly from the manufacturer in a black color scheme and is scheduled to begin shipping on October 24, 2022. The recommended retail price is 549.95 Euros.
