Sennheiser is adding new features to its in-ear headphones Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 launched in April via firmware update. New additions include Bluetooth multipoint and improved acoustics.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 are already among the best in-ear headphones on the market. Now the manufacturer announced a comprehensive firmware update that makes the Earbuds even better.

With the new update, the Momentum will henceforth be able to handle Bluetooth Multipoint, allowing you to pair them with two devices at once and switch back and forth between them.

The timing is also exciting, as Sony had also announced an update to its WF-1000XM4, Linksbuds S and Linkbuds just a few days ago that also brings multipoint.

Update with High Resolution Sound mode

Moreover, the firmware update of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 brings another improvement for the sound and that is in the form of the new High Resolution Sound mode. It enables a depth of 24 bits and a sampling rate of 96 kilohertz.

When connected to an audio source that is also based on the aptX Adaptive Codec, the mode increases the Bluetooth bit rate up to 420 kilobits per second for optimal sound. In busy environments such as public transportation, the headphones can also use the codec’s data scaling to constantly adjust the quality of the connection, he said.

The new high-resolution sound mode can be easily activated via the Smart Control app. There are also other improvements for the Bluetooth connection and the Earbuds’ touch-based control functions.

Bluetooth Multipoint and High Resolution Sound mode come with the latest firmware (2.10.19 or newer), which can be installed via update via the Smart Control app and should be available for download now.
