CES 2021: Asus announces PA148CTV mobile professional monitor

Asus has introduced a monitor for professional video and image editing at this year’s CES. The ProArt PA148CTV from the hardware expert is characterized by its portability in addition to its high color accuracy.

Mobile monitor for professionals

Meanwhile, you can find plenty of models on the market of monitors that are suitable for taking with you. This way, you should also be able to work productively outside of the office or home office. However, if a monitor with classic specs isn’t enough for you, you should take a look at the upcoming professional device from Asus. Especially in terms of color fidelity, it easily beats many devices from the competition.

IPS panel with high color space coverage

The ProArt PA148CTV comes with a screen diagonal of 14 inches. This resolves in Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). The display is based on an IPS panel, which should offer very stable viewing angles as typical for a panel. However, not only the viewing angle stability, but also the color space coverage sounds convincing. Professionals can look forward to a complete coverage of the sRGB and Rec. 709 color space. Accordingly, Asus has even had a high accuracy certified. According to the manufacturer, the monitor’s so-called Delta-E value is below two and is thus on a professional level.

Practical touch screen

So that you don’t always have to operate the keyboard, the ProArt offers the practical option of touch control. Here, the monitor should be able to register up to ten inputs simultaneously. Asus also wants to shine with support for Microsoft’s Surface Dial features. Professional users can adjust the monitor to their individual needs with the help of the practical On-Creen Display. Setting all relevant parameters in relation to the picture is possible here. Asus offers its own software, the “ProArt Palette”, especially for this purpose. Connections are also provided for. Besides two USB-C ports, Asus also installs a microHDMI slot. The USB-C port enables simultaneous power supply of connected notebooks.

Portable and user-friendly

The ProArt PA148CTV’s slim weight of 740 grams already underlines that it is optimally suited for mobile use. If you have found a suitable place of use, the monitor can be comfortably placed on any table using the kickstand. Those who want to use a tripod will be happy about the included mount.

Price and Availability

In the US, the ProArt PA148CTV is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of this year. When we in this country will be able to enjoy the practical monitor for on the go, however, is still unknown. The same applies to the price. We don’t know any details about this, neither for overseas nor for the German market. However, we expect a comparatively high RRP due to the powerful display. Conventional mobile monitors cost around 250 Euros. Unfortunately, we will probably not be able to find Asus’ professional device in these price regions.
