With the L24i-30 and the L27E-30, Lenovo presented two new monitors at this year’s CES. The manufacturer wants to combine style with entertainment and a good portion of productivity.
L24i-30 – Good picture and a lot of functionality
The IPS panel of the smaller of the two presented monitors sounds promising. This is not only supposed to provide a high viewing angle stability, which is typical for IPS. Lenovo also promises a razor-sharp picture with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). With the monitor, the company clearly seems to be targeting the education sector and corporate features. The timing seems perfect. After all, the Corona crisis has made alternatives to face-to-face teaching necessary. Accordingly, the L24i-30 should not only be able to offer a great display, but also high functionality. This is especially evident in the monitor stand. Here, you can namely look forward to some practical features. Besides a smartphone holder, it also offers a hidden cable management. Thus, Lenovo wants to provide order and overview in the office or classroom.
L27e-30 – larger screen diagonal
If the 24 inches of the L24i-30 are too small for you, you might find what you are looking for with the L27e-30. All in all, the larger counterpart comes with the same features of its smaller brother. By the way, both monitors should also be able to ensure that you don’t have a headache due to overstrained eyes at the end of a school, university or work day. The special anti-glare and eye-comfort technology is responsible for this.
This TÜV Rheinland-certified technology is said to minimize unhealthy blue light as well as annoying screen flickering. The purchase of one of the monitors is also worth considering for gamers. Both offer an extremely smooth gaming experience with AMD FreeSync. However, keep in mind that 4K gaming is not possible here. The input source can be conveniently connected via HDMI. According to Lenovo, frame rates of up to 75 Hz should be possible via HDMI.
Flexible customization options
The eye-friendly display and smartphone tray ensure that you should get through the stressful workday well with both monitors. But on top of that, both screens come with flexible customization options. Among other things, the viewing angles can be changed. This already eliminates the risk of neck pain in advance. If you can’t decide for one of the two monitors based on the screen size, you might also want to look at the design of the stands to help you decide. As similar as the two screens may be, the feet are different. The smaller of the two monitors comes with a stand that is made entirely of metal. Here, the manufacturer relies on small accents. In contrast, the stand of the 27-incher comes in a plain but stylish graphite gray.
Price and availability
There is again no difference in the color scheme of the monitors themselves. Here, Lenovo relies on a rich black called “Raven Black”. The almost bezel-less design, as well as the approximately 7 mm thin display, result in a slim exterior that is rarely seen at such fair prices. Price-wise, the L24i-30 sounds like a good deal for students with not too bulging wallets. Lenovo wants to launch the monitor as early as March 2021 at an MSRP starting at 149 Euros. The L27e-30 is also scheduled to go on sale in March this year. The RRP of 169 Euros is slightly higher than the smaller model.
