The CHERRY UM Series in detail
The CHERRY UM Series, like the manufacturer’s other peripherals, is said to offer outstanding quality. The UM 3.0, UM 6.0 ADVANCED and UM 9.0 PRO RGB USB microphones offer the right solution for all applications from home office to streaming studio.
They are said to be particularly durable, offer modern features and score points with strong comfort functions. These include, for example, a touch mute or volume control directly on the microphone and the integrated headphone jack.
CHERRY UM 3.0: For office users
Already the CHERRY UM 3.0 comes with a sampling rate of 96 kilohertz and 24 bits and wants to deliver a strong recording quality of individuals thanks to its directional cardioid capsule.
The CHERRY UM 3.0 is also ideally suited for recording podcasts, voiceovers or recording individual instruments, with the manufacturer stating that its core area of application is in the home office sector.
CHERRY UM 6.0 ADVANCED aims to be particularly versatile
The UM 6.0 ADVANCED offers a choice of “cardioid” as well as “omnidirectional” polar patterns and can thus record sources on both sides at a sampling rate of 96 kilohertz and 24 bits. A microphone spider also prevents vibrations from having an unsightly influence on the sound.
Together with basic extras of the UM series, such as the integrated headphone jack, the UM 6.0 ADVANCED aims to mark a professional recording solution, which also scores especially with its lightweight and mobile design and can be taken anywhere. The sensitivity of the microphone can also be controlled via gain control directly on the microphone.
CHERRY UM 9.0 PRO RGB: For professionals in colorful
For professional streamers, on the other hand, the CHERRY UM 9.0 PRO RGB is intended. With a sampling rate of 192 kilohertz and 24 bits, it precisely records audio sources. You can choose between cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-eight and stereo polar patterns.
With this model, too, a microphone spider ensures reliable decoupling from the metal stand and prevents sound distortions caused by vibrations. In addition, the CHERRY UM 9.0 PRO RGB just offers the eponymous lighting, which is integrated directly into the microphone and can of course be adjusted.
All USB microphones of the UM series are supplied with a sturdy metal stand, allow muting directly via a touch control panel on the surface, are equipped with an integrated headphone jack and plug&play compatible with PC, Mac, PS4 as well as PS5 without configuration effort.
Optionally, CHERRY also offers a pop filter that is supposed to filter plosive and sharp S sounds (UM POP FILTER). In addition, there are further accessories like the MA 3.0 UNI swivel arm made of robust aluminum or the MA 6.0 UNI USB swivel arm with a built-in USB hub including two ports (5V/2A). Of course, the swivel arms can be used not only with the UM microphones, but also with many other microphones from other manufacturers.
