Cooler Master MA824 Stealth: CPU cooler with superconducting heatpipes

Cooler Master, a well-known manufacturer of computer components, has introduced the MA824 Stealth CPU cooler. This new model features remarkable cooling performance based on the newly developed “Superconductive Composite Heat Pipe” technology. According to Jimmy Sha, CEO of Cooler Master, this technology could significantly improve the performance of air coolers for CPUs.

Design and Structure

The MA824 Stealth is a dual-tower cooler that features specially optimized fin thicknesses and spacing. These features are designed to maximize the surface area of the cooler for improved cooling performance. The bottom plate of the cooler is made of nickel-plated copper, which should ensure efficient heat transfer from the CPU to the cooler.

Aesthetics and functionality

The “Stealth” in the cooler’s name refers to its distinctive design. It is completely black in color and features an additional aluminum cover. This design is meant to give the cooler an elegant and aesthetic look.

Ventilation and compatibility

A Mobius-120 fan is used for ventilation, which allows a high clearance of up to 42 millimeters for the RAM. Thanks to the asymmetrical design of the CPU cooler, larger RAM modules can be used with coolers without bumping against the fan or the cooling structure. Inside the dual-tower is another 135mm fan that sits directly above the CPU and should provide fast heat dissipation.

Superconductive Composite Heat Pipes

Cooler Master’s revolutionary Superconductive Composite Heat Pipe technology represents a significant breakthrough in air cooling. The MA824 Stealth features a total of eight superconductive heat pipes made from a special combination of copper powder and grooves. This innovative design provides efficient and fast heat transfer throughout the cooler. Preliminary testing with similar models such as the MasterAir 412 Stratos showed remarkable performance gains of up to 30% due to this cutting-edge technology.
