Tiger Lake-H chips – Core i5 and i7

The Latitude workstations have always been designed for business, and they can still convince with powerful components and a timeless design. Dell has now upgraded the Latitude models so that they can keep up with the times. The new models are now available with 11th generation Intel processors. The 45 watt version of the Intel Tiger Lake H processor provides even more performance. There are various configuration options from Core i5 to Core i7.

A Core i5-11400H, a Core i5-11500H vPro or an Intel Core i7-11850H vPro are available for the Latitude 5421 and Latitude 5521. Graphically, there is a choice between Intel UHD or an Nvidia GeForce MX450 for both models as well.

Connections and connections

Even though the innovations are not very recognizable on the outside, a lot has been done on the inside of the Latitude workstations due to the new processors. On the outside, the trackpad and the port selection have been optimized. The ports are diverse, with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2 (Gen 1), a smart card reader, HDMI 2.0 port, RJ49 Ethernet, 3.5 mm audio jack and a SIM card slot.

Wireless is available via Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, Bluetooth 5.1 and Bluetooth 5.2 or even LTE.

The 14-inch version is the Dell Latitude 5421, while the Latitude 5521 is 15.6 inches. Here, as usual for Dell, several display options are available to choose from. Among others, panels with HD resolution as well as touch and non-touch versions up to a resolution of 4K. The weight of the new Latitude workstations starts at 1.49 kg and 1.79 kg for the 15-inch model. Both laptops are equipped with a 64 Wh battery, whereas the Latitude 5521 can also be configured with a 97 Wh battery.

The two Latitude models aren’t particularly slim with the dimensions of 321.35mm x 212mm x 20.95 mm and 357.8mm x 233.3mm x 22.67 mm respectively. In return, these offer the usual software environment for professional use.

The prices and availabilities for the two new Latitude models have not been announced yet.
