DreamHack Hannover: Freaks 4U Gaming and Deutsche Messe cooperate for the long term

Germany is once again enriched by a gaming trade fair. After the cancellation of Dreamhack Leipzig last year, the gaming and esports fair is returning this year. This time, however, as DreamHack Hannover in the capital of Lower Saxony. This is made possible by a multi-year partnership between Freaks 4U Gaming and Deutsche Messe.

DreamHack Hannover 2022 will take place as early as December

Esports and gaming-focused agency Freaks 4U Gaming is joining forces with Deutsche Messe to bring the gaming lifestyle experience DreamHack to Hannover in a multi-year partnership. The first DreamHack Hannover will take place just before Christmas, from December 15 to 18, 2022, at the exhibition center there.

In doing so, the agency is pursuing ambitious plans for the renowned gaming and esports trade fair, whose counterpart in Jönköping, Sweden, from 2004 holds the world record as the largest LAN party in the world with 5,272 participants and 5,852 computers. In the long term, they want to jointly make DreamHack “one of the largest DreamHack festivals in the world” in Hanover, the press release says.

LAN area, cosplay and much more

Visitors to DreamHack Hannover will be offered a rich program. Thus, there will be an extensive LAN area, while cosplay contests and appearances by influencers are promised. There will also be an exhibition area, music performances and Esports tournaments in various disciplines.

“In addition, B2B opportunities for brands, publishers and other esports players will be announced in the near future to allow the industry to network on-site,” the organizers say. One wants to unite the complete world of gaming in Hannover under one roof.

Chip maker Intel and energy drink brand Monster Energy were unveiled as the first sponsors. More information on the program, ticket sales, the exhibition and partnership opportunities will be announced in the coming weeks.

Esports convention P1NG Germany cancelled

However, there is one downer for gaming fans. For the e-sports convention P1NG, originally scheduled for June 2022, which was also to be held in Hanover, is cancelled. Deutsche Messe AG confirmed this when asked by GamesWirtschaft magazine. Due to the congruent topics, the project will not be pursued further and will be thematically included in DreamHack Hannover 2022, they say.
