Ducky One III Aura: Update in transparent design

Strictly speaking, the Ducky One III Aura is not an entirely new model from the expert in high-quality gaming keyboards. Instead, the company is presenting a new version of the Ducky One III (test) here. This one already differs from the base model at first glance. You get a cool transparent design here, where not only the case, but also the polycarbonate keys are transparent. However, a completely transparent design is only available in the white model. The counterpart in black only offers transparent keys.

The case itself remains primarily black, again offering a semi-transparent look. Apart from that, you get the same features as the standard version, which was awarded with a Gold Award. On the one hand, this means that you get a fancy RGB lighting. This should be even more noticeable in view of the transparent look. Furthermore, the manufacturer again promises a high build quality paired with a pleasant typing feel.

At the same time, you again have a free choice when it comes to the form factor of the Ducky One III Aura. From mini to full-size, everything is possible here. And there is not only freedom of choice for the size. You can also choose the switches according to your taste. With Gateron, Kailh and Cherry, the who’s who of switch brands is represented here. QUACK Mechanics on board

Given the high-quality components, it’s also not surprising that the Ducky One III Aura naturally offers features like N-key rollover and anti-ghosting. This should not only please fast typists, but especially gamers. However, the in-house technology called QUACK Mechanics is much more exciting. Here, the manufacturer would like to have paid attention to certain virtues of the keyboard during the conception in order to optimize the typing feel. On the one hand, Ducky uses keycaps made of polycarbonate, which is supposed to provide a great durability. According to Ducky, they also want to have ensured that the keys are not only easy to type on, but also emit a pleasant noise while doing so by using a total of 17 rubber compounds.

Of course, the Ducky One III Aura is not a cheap keyboard either. However, you also get a lot here at an MSRP starting at 149.90 euros.
