Eufy presents surveillance camera S220 SoloCam

With the S220 SoloCam, eufy has presented a new surveillance camera that can impress with a solar panel, among other things. Three hours of sunshine are enough to ensure self-sufficient operation. In addition, there are several other features.

130-degree field of view and solar operation

The new S220 SoloCam security camera is designed for operation in outdoor areas that experience significant sunlight. Equipped with a solar panel, the camera can be operated without being connected to the power grid. Three hours of sunlight per day are sufficient for this. If this is the case, the camera should deliver sharp images from its 130-degree field of view around the clock. It is equipped with an open f/1.6 aperture and infrared LEDs.

With dimensions of 9.6 x 8.1 x 5.7 centimeters, the S220 SoloCam has been kept particularly compact, which ensures that it can be installed in a wide variety of places without much effort. Installation in the narrower sense is not necessary. After attaching the camera and the solar panel, it simply needs to be connected to a Wi-Fi network and the eufy Security app. After that, it can be used.

Face recognition and two-way audio

The new security camera from eufy is also supposed to score points with face recognition and two-way audio. For the former function, it is equipped with artificial intelligence. In addition to face detection, this also performs general motion detection. If desired, a notification is immediately sent to the connected app when motion is detected on the monitored property. Those who use the camera together with the Security HomeBase 3 base station, which is available separately for 179 euros, also have the option of having family members identified via facial recognition. This allows the camera to distinguish between wanted and potentially unwanted people and to sound the alarm in a tailored manner.

The two-way audio function is also used to distinguish between wanted and unwanted guests. Thus, communication with people located near the camera is possible via the app.

The new S220 SoloCam surveillance camera is available now both directly from the manufacturer and from retailers. The recommended retail price is 129 euros. There are no additional costs during operation, as no subscription is required for the use of (additional) functions.
