With the Frida 500, Blaupunkt wants to further fuel the trend of modern e-bikes. The practical folding e-bike is intended to be the perfect companion for the big city. This is to be ensured not only by its portable dimensions with 24-inch tires, but also by the integrated brake light and the luggage rack.
A somewhat different folding bike
Let’s not fool ourselves: Folding bikes are not exactly among the coolest bikes on the market. Especially the small bikes, with which the majority of two-wheelers are equipped, do not exactly contribute to a modern and sporty design. Blaupunkt now wants to take a different approach with its Frida 500. For example, the electrified folding bike offers 125 tires, which are used on 24 inch rims. This should not only provide a more comfortable driving experience. In addition, the manufacturer Blaupunkt hopes for more effective pedal support.
Promising performance
When driving on the Frida 500, you get support from a 250 watt motor. In combination with the improved rear-wheel drive, drivers should be equipped for every challenge in the city. But the Frida 500 is not only suitable for urban terrain. Extensive cycling tours should also be no problem. To provide effective support while riding, the Frida 500 is equipped with a Shimano 6-speed SIS shift system. In combination with high-quality disc brakes from Tektro, safety should also be ensured. So that you can be seen in the dark without any problems, Blaupunkt integrates both the front headlights (LED lamps) and the rear brake lights into the frame itself.
Functionality in a great design
Thanks to the luggage rack, everyday tasks can be handled perfectly. It offers space for a basket or other loading. The power supply of the Fall-E-Bike is hidden underneath the luggage carrier. In particular, this is a Li-Ion battery, which offers 36 volts and 10.4 amperes. This should allow a range of up to 80 km. Since the battery can be easily removed, the whole bike does not have to be hoisted into the apartment if the battery should ever fail.
The Frida 500 can also shine visually. The manufacturer uses aluminum for the frame. The design is rather classically elegant. Especially the color with the name “lava gray” white to please. The contrast to the light brown accents completes the design of the folding e-bike.
In the heart a classic folding bike
Of course, the Frida 500 should not call itself a fall e-bike for no reason. The modern folding bike also offers the core function. If you want to transport it, you can easily make it smaller. An intelligent quick release mechanism is used for this. Thanks to foldable pedals and handlebars, it can be folded to a minimum size. When folded, the modern folding bike measures only 900 mm x 450 mm x 840 mm (L x W x H). Since the folding e-bike weighs an impressive 22.5 kg, Blaupunkt relies on a robust double stand. This always gives the folding bike a secure stand. But in addition to the classic folding bike functions, the Frida 500 also offers an LCD bicycle computer. This always gives the driver valuable information on the current battery status. In addition, with the help of the smart assistant, pedal assistance can be coordinated up to a maximum speed of 25 km/h.

That Frida 500 can be secured immediately to a UVP of 1,599 euro. Of course it corresponds to the valid defaults of the STVZO.
