Huawei Band 8: The new wearable now also available in Germany

Huawei has now officially launched its latest wearable, the Huawei Band 8, on the German market. This fitness tracker, which also functions as a smartwatch, is equipped with an AMOLED screen and a number of sensors that meet the current standard. The device is available for 59 euros and comes in three colors: Black, Sakura Pink and Green.

Design and specifications

The Huawei Band 8 is a compact model with dimensions of 43.45 x 24.54 millimeters and a thickness of only 8.99 millimeters at the thinnest point. The casing is made of plastic and the device weighs only 14 grams without the wristband. The AMOLED screen has a diagonal of 1.47 inches and a resolution of 194 x 368 pixels. The screen supports touch and swipe gestures and the device also has a side button for operation.

Sensors and functions

The Huawei Band 8 is equipped with an optical heart rate sensor that can record heart rate in everyday life as well as during sports activities. In addition, the sensor can also measure blood oxygen saturation. With Huawei’s TruSleep 3.0 technology, the device can also precisely record and evaluate sleep quality and duration. Battery life is estimated to be up to 9 days with typical use.

Smartwatch features

Although the Huawei Band 8 is designed as a fitness tracker, it also offers features that are more typical of a smartwatch. For example, users can quickly reply to messages and control the music and camera of a paired smartphone. More information about the availability and features of the Huawei Band 8 is expected in the coming months.
