HUAWEI MateBook D14 and D15: 2020 models presented and available for order

Just a few days ago, the Chinese hardware manufacturer HUAWEI presented a series of new notebook models at its launch event. Among them the Matebook D-Series in the form of the MateBook D14 and MateBook D15. With modified specifications, these models represent the 2020 versions of the models for the German market that were already introduced for China at the end of 2019.

HUAWEI MateBook D14 and D15: The features in detail

Under the hood of both models, the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Vega-8 GPUs works as a processor. At their side are 8 GB DDR4 RAM. Paradoxically, the smaller MateBook D14 offers the slightly better features of both 2020 versions. Thus, an SSD with 512 GB is built into the MateBook D14, while the MateBook D15 only gets an SSD with 256 GB. The smaller D14 model with a weight of 1.38 kg also gets a battery with a capacity of 65 Wh and a runtime of 9.5 hours, whereas the larger D15 only gets 42 Wh and a runtime of 6.3 hours. Both notebooks can be charged with 65 watts via the modern USB-C port.

Both the D14 and the D15 from HUAWEI have an anti-reflective IPS display in 16:9 format with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The 14-inch D14 laptop offers a display to chassis ratio of 84 percent. The Matebook D15 provides a ratio of 87 percent. Both models have an aluminum housing. The dimensions of the D14 are 322.5 x 214.8 x 15.9 mm at 1.38 kg weight, while the D15 measures 357.8 x 229.9 x 16.9 mm at 1.53 kg weight.

The MateBook D14 and MateBook D15 from HUAWEI can already be ordered in advance. The MateBook D15 is offered for 649 Euro, while the smaller MateBook D14 is available for 699 Euro. If you pre-order until 8 March you will also get the HUAWEI FreeBuds 3 worth 179 Euro for free.
