Huawei has launched its new flagship notebooks, the Huawei MateBook D14 and D15, just in time for CES 2023. Compared with their predecessors, these notebooks are said to have a significant performance increase. After all, they come with an 11th generation Intel CPU. We take a look at the new launches.
Huawei MateBook D14 and D15 come in a compact design
Huawei remains true to itself when it comes to the design language. This means that the so-called “Pure Shape” look is to be used here as well. The devices, which are optionally available in Space Gray or Mystic Silver, are supposed to come in a modern metal casing that is characterized by refined lines. The Huawei Matebook D14 and D15 do not only look slim. The weight of just 1.38 kg and 1.6 kg, respectively, indicates two pleasingly light notebooks. Combined with a thickness of just under 16 mm and just under 17 mm respectively, this ensures maximum portability.

Not only the compact dimensions ensure user comfort. The equipment also includes everything that is needed for today’s work routine. Both notebooks score with a 14-inch and 15-inch Full HD display, respectively. Thanks to an anti-glare coating, you hardly have to worry about annoying reflections. Huawei MateBook D14 and D15 live up to their FullView design by offering a screen-to-body ratio of 84 and 87 percent, respectively. Low Blue Light and Flicker Free technology ensure eye protection.

Enjoyable performance
While the design is clearly reminiscent of last-gen Huawei MateBook D14 and D15, things are said to have changed under the hood. The 11th generation Intel processor is supposed to provide an immense performance increase. The quad-core CPU is supported by up to 16 GB of working memory. The installed PCIe SSD, which has a maximum capacity of 512 GB, is also supposed to offer speed. The Super Device feature should also prove to be practical.
In particular, owners of a smartphone or tablet from the Chinese tech company can benefit from convenient operation here. After all, it should be possible to transfer data from A to B in a flash this way, for example. To be prepared for video conferences, both notebooks also offer a webcam. This is retractable, which ensures a pleasingly high level of data protection. Speaking of data protection. On top of that, Huawei MateBook D14 and D15 have a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
Price and availability
Huawei MateBook D14 and D15 seem to have made another pleasing leap compared to the last generations. However, it remains to be seen how the two notebooks will fare against the competition. The MateBook D14 is said to be available with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash storage at an MSRP of 899 Euros. For the MateBook D15, the Chinese tech company again wants to charge an MSRP from 799 Euros. This includes 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash storage.
