With the Lenovo Legion Pro 5, the PC expert has presented a new upper mid-range gaming notebook at the CES 2023. The 16-inch laptop is said to come with a maximum GeForce RTX 4070 and either Intel or AMD CPU.
Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is the new mid-range from Lenovo
At this year’s CES in Las Vegas, Lenovo shows itself extremely busy again. Especially from the gaming brand “Legion” we were allowed to admire some upcoming highlights. Among them is the extremely powerful Lenovo Legion Tower 7i. Those who don’t fancy a classic desktop PC but still want to gamble on a high level should again take a look at the presented gaming notebooks.
Indeed, this is where Lenovo had quite a bit to offer one of its biggest competitors like Alienware. While Dell’s gaming division came up trumps with models like the Alienware m16, Lenovo had nothing less than its Legion Pro 7, which it claims is the most powerful gaming laptop at 16 inches. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 could be interesting for all those who are not willing to pay at least 2,800 Euros for a gaming notebook.
Intelligent cooling solution with liquid metal
The 2.5 kg light notebook has a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and relies on IPS technology. As a buyer, you should be able to choose between two display versions. The basic version has a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a brightness of 300 nits. Those who pay more can also get 240 Hz and 500 nits. The PC expert also wants to use its new AI-supported cooling technology with the help of liquid metal in the Lenovo Legion Pro 5. This should ensure that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 can deliver up to 140 watts of power. Those who want to save money can alternatively have an RTX 4060, 4050 or 3050 installed.
There is also freedom of choice for the processor. You can choose between an Intel Core i9-13900HX or a Ryzen 9 7845HX in the top configuration. The CPU is supported by a maximum of 32 GB of RAM, and up to 2 TB of flash memory is possible. An RGB keyboard is supposed to provide a cool look and overview in low-light conditions. Lenovo is also not lukewarm when it comes to connectivity. The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 has 1x USB-C, 4x USB-A, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x 3.5 mm jack and 1x Ethernet.
Price and availability
You should be able to grab the new Lenovo Legion Pro 5i with Intel CPU starting in March 2023. Fans of the AMD CPU, on the other hand, will have to wait a bit longer and will probably be able to get their hands on it from May 2023. While the Intel version will be sold for starting at 1,699 Euros, Lenovo wants to charge prices starting at 1,649 Euros for the AMD version.
