ASUS ROG Strix SCAR series and ROG Zephyrus G16 start sales

New gaming notebooks from ASUS. After the ASUS ROG Strix G18 and G16 at the beginning of March, the ROG Strix SCAR 16 and 18, as well as ROG Zephyrus G16 models now follow, which want to inspire with powerful processors and high-quality equipment.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR series and ROG Zephyrus G16 launch

The Zephyrus G16 and the new Strix SCAR series models from Republic of Gamers (ROG) for e-sports enthusiasts are available now. The ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU603) impresses with a 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900H processor. The ROG Strix SCAR 18 (G834J) and ROG Strix SCAR 16 (G634J) are fully featured gaming notebooks in 16- and 18-inch versions.

The ROG Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18 are the manufacturer’s flagship gaming notebooks that wow with brute performance. The SCAR 18, for example, features an 18-inch Nebula display with a 2.5K resolution. The 16-inch model (G634J) is available with an impressive Nebula HDR display, which we already absolutely loved in our review of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 at the end of February 2023.

Both models are equipped with up to 13th-generation Intel Core i9-13980HX processors and come with up-to-date NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series graphics chips equipped with Advanced Optimus technology.

The Nebula display realizes a refresh rate of 240 Hz with a response time of only 3 milliseconds and a brightness of 500 nits, while the DCI-P3 color space is covered to full 100 percent. The SCAR 16 is even available with an optional mini LED display that gets up to 1,100 nits bright.

Furthermore, the devices feature a dedicated MUX switch with support for NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, which intelligently prioritizes either gaming performance or battery life automatically.

Fast DDR5 RAM and a PCIe Gen 4×4 SSD provide an excellent working speed. With Conductonaut Extreme Liquid Metal on the CPU, Tri-Fan technology, circumferential vents and intelligent cooling, maximum performance is retrieved even under full load, the manufacturer promises.

In addition, there are 90 Wh strong batteries with Fast Charge technology, as well as four speakers with Dolby Atmos sound and Smart Amp, which enables up to 3.5 times the volume.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16

Not unlike the M1, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 combines a sleek design with brute performance. It is equipped with a 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series laptop GPU, with a maximum 120W TGP. Also installed is a ROG Nebula display, which takes up almost the entire front with a screen-to-body ratio of 94 percent.

A MUX switch with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus is also offered. The notebook also features a 180-degree ErgoLift hinge, thanks to which it can be placed flat. Dolby Atmos speakers and a 3D microphone array are also offered.

It is equipped with an HD 720P IR camera and has Windows Hello support. Its numerous ports also include a Thunderbolt 4 and another USB Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 100W charging support, as well as WiFi 6E.

Prices and Availability

All new ASUS ROG gaming notebooks are available in stores now. The ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU603) starts at €1,799.00. The ROG Strix SCAR 16 (G634J) is available now starting at an MSRP of 3,499 euros, while the Strix CAR 18 (G834J) starts at 3,669 euros.
