Hyundai guarantees environmental bonus on electric cars and plug-in hybrids

Anyone who decides to buy an electric car or a plug-in hybrid from Hyundai in the coming months is guaranteed to receive the environmental bonus. The automaker announced this in a press release today.

Hyundai to guarantee eco-rebate for private customers

At the end of 2022, the environmental bonus for plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) will expire. It is currently unclear how the environmental bonus for battery electric vehicles (BEV) will continue in 2023. As a result of this planning uncertainty, Hyundai has now confirmed a guaranteed payout for its electric cars and plug-in hybrids.

“In order for the eco-rebate to be paid out in the current, full amount, the vehicles must have been delivered and registered by December 31, 2022, and the BAFA application must have been submitted correctly. Hyundai’s guarantee offer provides this security,” writes the automaker.

If a binding purchase agreement is concluded with a Hyundai authorized dealer in good time, the premium can be paid out in full for eligible vehicles. Specifically, the following deadlines apply:

  • Hyundai IONIQ 5: until April 30, 2022
  • Hyundai TUCSON plug-in hybrid: by May 31, 2022
  • Hyundai KONA electric, IONIQ electric and SANTA FE (plug-in hybrid): until June 30, 2022

“Thanks to our short production and delivery routes, we can guarantee that electric cars and plug-in vehicles purchased now or soon under our promise will be delivered to customers by the end of the year,” says Jürgen Keller, managing director of Hyundai Motor Germany.

Delivery guarantee until the end of the year

Corresponding electric cars and plug-in hybrids from Hyundai can still be delivered until December 31, 2022, if purchased in time, the automaker guarantees. In the case of the popular KONA electric, purchase is even possible until the end of June 2022. The same deadline applies to the IONIQ electric and the Hyundai SANTA FE plug-in hybrid.

According to the manufacturer, the short delivery times result from the fact that the e-car is manufactured at Hyundai’s Czech plant in Nošovice and the delivery route to Germany is correspondingly short.

Hyundai IONIQ 5: Act fast

Those who are flirting with the purchase of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and still want to benefit from the full environmental bonus, on the other hand, must act much faster. Here, there is only about a week left, until April 30, 2022, to ensure delivery by the end of 2022.

The innovative electric car has just been named “World Car of the Year”. Buyers will receive their ordered car by the deadline later this year and benefit in full from BAFA’s innovation premium and Hyundai’s manufacturer’s share of €9,570.

Minus this premium, the new Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available from 32,330 euros. An 8-year warranty on the vehicle – without mileage limit – as well as eight years warranty on the high-voltage battery up to 160,000 kilometers there is on top on the part of Hyundai.
