Those who want to equip their gaming corner or room with new furniture have reason to rejoice. The gaming furniture series of the Swedish furniture store Ikea, which was created in cooperation with ASUS ROG, will finally be released in Germany in October. A whole six product series will already start in the coming month.
Start from 01 October
After the gaming furniture of Ikea and Asus ROG since the launch at the end of 2020 already enjoys great popularity in China, the furniture store and the IT manufacturer bring the series already from 01 October also in Germany to the start.
The Gaming Collection is made up of a total of six product series, which combine more than 30 products: HUVUDSPELARE, UTESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSPEL, UPPSPEL and LÅNESPELARE. The UPPSPEL series was created in direct collaboration with ROG, Asus’ gaming label, while the five other series were at least inspired by the partner’s gaming expertise, according to reports.
Overall, according to the official statement, the aim is to create “personalized all-in-one solutions that fit perfectly into the home and provide the ideal foundation for the ultimate gaming experience.” With Ikea’s gaming chairs, Asus says it wants to appeal to a broader target group outside of the traditional hardcore gamer segment.
UPPSPEL series forms the basic framework
The UPPSPEL series gaming desk marks the basic framework of the cooperation and shows strong inspiration from the ROG design language with so-called “cyber pattern” and beveled edges.
Thus, a very individual alignment is achieved. If you install the edge at the front, the forearms in particular are supposed to be relieved, whereas a use at the back enables easier cable management. In addition, the height of the tabletop can be adjusted at the push of a button so that the desk can also be used while standing. A USB port, for example for charging the smartphone, is also offered.
The UPPSPEL gaming table is available in 140×80 cm or 180×80 cm sizes. The series is complemented by various storage or furnishing elements such as a metal display case with tempered glass doors, a perforated plate including accessories and a rolling PC frame made of a steel framework.
Four series of gaming chairs
In terms of comfortable gaming chairs, Ikea positions itself extremely broadly, offering a full four series: GRUPPSPEL, MATCHSPEL, UTESPELARE and HUVUDSPELARE. They appear in very different price ranges, whereby the GRUPPSPEL series marks the flagship and comes up with a particularly large and comfortable seat. There is a choice of leather or a polyester cover, but the difference in price is minimal (around 300 euros for the leather version, 250 euros for the polyester model).
At the lower end, Ikea positions the HUVUDSPELARE gaming chair models, which are already available for under 50 euros. In this range, the furniture store also offers a sleek gaming desk complete with a base for cables.
LÅNESPELARE series with accessories
In the LÅNESPELARE series, Ikea offers a lot of practical accessories that are designed to make work or gaming more pleasant. These include, for example, a mouse bungee for tidy cable management, mouse pads in two different sizes and a floor protector.
A combination of cushion and blanket, a neck pillow and even a cup holder including a matching stainless steel drinking cup round off the range.
Prices and availability
All six product series of the new cooperation between Ikea and Asus ROG can be purchased from 01 October 2021 at the Swedish furniture store or in the online store. The prices vary of course very strongly.
It starts with a neck cushion at a price of 6.99 euros or a ring light with smartphone holder for 34.99 euros. The gaming chairs start at 49.99 euros and go up to the top model, which costs 299.99 euros. The following models are available to choose from:

The UPPSPEL height-adjustable gaming desk is available in 140×80 cm for €469.99 or 180×80 cm for €499.99.
