Ikea Symfonisk Frekvens: shelf speaker with LED light presented

Ikea continues to expand the Symfinsk line-up. Having already unveiled a new floor lamp complete with Sonos speaker these days, the Ikea Symfonisk Frekvens is now followed by a new Wi-Fi shelf speaker with a square LED light.

Ikea Symfonisk Frekvens in detail

In the new Ikea Symfonisk Frekvens bundle, Ikea combines the bookshelf speaker, which they relaunched in a 2nd generation at the beginning of 2022, with an LED light cube. This is connected by cable to the shelf speaker and can be positioned accordingly off.

With 15 x 15 cm, the light cube turns out quite compact. Small, white LEDs on the front of the more expensive model are capable of displaying a total of seven different lighting effects, while the cheaper variant only has a white LED spot in the full size of the Frekven. However, this can light up in time with the music or pulsate evenly.

The WiFi bookshelf speaker, on the other hand, is an old acquaintance with dimensions of 170 mm x 380 mm x 120 mm (width x length x height), which can be either laid down or set up, as well as mounted on the wall.

It can be controlled via the Sonos app for iOS and Android. It can also be wirelessly integrated into the Sonos ecosystem. For example, Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect are supported for a wireless multi-room sound solution. In addition, two of these bookshelf speakers can be combined to achieve stereo sound.

Pricing and availability

Offered, as mentioned, the Ikea Symfonisk Frekvens bundle comes in two different variants. Both currently apparently only with the black version of the WiFi shelf speaker. The bundle with the LED spot has a recommended retail price of 129.98 euros. The variant with the customizable LED light turns out to be only immensely more expensive with an MSRP of 139.98 euros. Both bundles are available now from the Swedish furniture store and online.
