At the F8 developer conference, Facebook also announced major changes affecting Instagram and WhatsApp. In both apps, vendors will be able to offer their products in the future. First, Facebook is testing this new feature with a few selected sellers.
The special thing about this is that users no longer have to leave the apps to make their purchases. The entire process, from product selection to data entry to payment, will take place in Instagram or WhatsApp. At Instagram, this new feature comes as no surprise, as the platform is already being used extensively for product advertising. In the still ad-free WhatsApp, however, the innovation seems strange. It should be noted, however, that Facebook announced some time ago that it would be launching advertisements in WhatsApp this year. Ultimately, WhatsApp is expected to accelerate the commercialization process.
