Kioxia Exceria Plus G3 SSD: Higher performance and efficiency in M.2 format

Kioxia, a leading manufacturer of storage solutions, has announced the launch of the new Exceria Plus G3 SSD series. Scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2023, these SSDs rely on PCIe 4.0 technology and offer storage capacities of up to 2 terabytes. They are designed for use in desktop PCs, notebooks and gaming PCs.

Improvements over the predecessor

The Exceria Plus G3 SSDs offer significant improvements over their predecessor, the Exceria Plus G2. Thanks to the use of PCIe 4.0, they achieve maximum sequential read speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s, a 47% increase over the G2 series. In addition, Kioxia promises a 70% increase in energy efficiency at maximum read speeds.

Technical Details

The Exceria Plus G3 SSDs are based on BICS FLASH™ 3D flash memory with TLC (triple-level cell) technology and use the single-sided M.2 2280 form factor. This makes them suitable for both desktops and mobile systems. They are also compatible with Kioxia’s SSD Utility Management software, which helps users monitor and maintain their SSDs.

Presentation at Computex

The new Exceria Plus G3 series will be showcased as a reference product at the Computex exhibition in Taipei from May 30 to June 2. Final specifications and pricing will be announced at that time.

The Kioxia Exceria Plus G3 SSDs promise high performance and efficiency for mainstream users and gamers. With their high sequential read speeds and improved power efficiency, they could be an attractive option for anyone looking to upgrade their storage solution.
