LC-Power: New SSDs announced

The manufacturer LC-Power promises nothing less than a faster future with its new data carriers thanks to the matching SSDs. To achieve this goal, the company is launching three new SSD series at once.

A new market segment for LC-Power

LC-Power has so far not appeared in the field of SSDs. This is a completely new market segment for the manufacturer. Instead, the company has so far mainly produced power supplies, cases, accessories and monitors. The SSD segment is set to begin with three series. The cheapest of the new series is the Phoenix series. This comes in a 2.5 inch form factor and offers a suitable SATA interface. In addition to the Phoenix series, LC-Power also offers the Phenom and Phenom Pro series. These do not come in the 2.5 inch format, but in the contemporary M.2 form factor. They should also be able to offer a fast NVMe interface.

The Phoenix series

The buyer of an SSD from the Phoenix series should have a choice of three sizes. Besides 240 GB, there are also the sizes 480 GB and 960 GB. At first glance, the speeds of the Phoenix series look pleasing. Thus, read speeds of up to 550 MB/s and write speeds of up to 500 MB/s should be possible on the 960 GB model. The speeds of the smaller models are insignificantly lower.

The Phenom series

In the middle of the three new series is the Phenom series. The SSDs from the Phenom series should be much faster than those from the Phoenix series due to their PCIe 3.0 technology. The buyer can also choose between three different sizes. Starting with 256 GB over 512 GB, one can choose a maximum of 1 TB storage capacity. A glance at the speeds makes it clear what an NVMe interface can achieve in contrast to classic SATA. Reading speeds of up to 1800 MB/s and writing speeds of up to 1500 MB/s should be possible.

The Phenom Pro series

If that is not enough for you, you should be happy with the high-end series from LC-Power. Here you have the choice between four different SSDs. Besides 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB, you can also choose a version with 2 TB. Impressive speeds of up to 3400 MB/s (read) and 2750 MB/s (write) should then be possible with the Phenom Pro series. According to LC-Power, this should make the Phenom Pro series especially perfect for resource-hungry applications in everyday work and a convincing gaming performance.
