Flexibility, mobility and a strong display at a fair price are what the new Chromebook convertible tablet IdeaPad Duet 5 wants to combine, which manufacturer Lenovo presented at its own in-house exhibition.
OLED convertible with Chrome OS
Lenovo’s IdeaPad Duet 5 is based on Google’s Chrome OS and should be particularly well received in university or school life due to the installed technology. The manufacturer relies on a 13.3-inch display with an OLED panel that has a Full HD resolution and a brightness of 400 nits.
The IdeaPad Duet 5 can be operated via pen, touchscreen or docking keyboard. The combination of keyboard and stand makes the convertible tablet a valid notebook replacement.
Lenovo relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c processor, which was developed especially for Chromebooks. Up to 8 GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB eMMC or SSD storage are also available.
Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 are available for communication, and two USB 3.0 Type-C ports on the side are also offered. In addition, the 42 Whr strong battery ensures a respectable battery life of around 15 hours.
Price and availability
The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 is scheduled to start shipping in November 2021 at an MSRP of 499.00 Euros. A model in gray color, as well as a dark blue variant are available.
