Those who like it a bit more high-end will get their money’s worth in Lenovo’s newly introduced portfolio with the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i Ultrabook. The slim 14-incher features a 4K OLED display, high-quality speakers and a sophisticated design.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i in detail
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i ultrabook is only 14.9 millimeters thin and weighs 1.37 kilograms. According to the press release, the manufacturer relies at least partially on a case made of 3D glass, but does not specify exactly which components are involved.
Nevertheless, the 9i looks good. The design is based on pleasant, rounded edges, a comparatively large (and apparently not quite centered) trackpad, as well as a flat and high-quality keyboard.
The speakers, which were provided by the manufacturer Bowers and Wilkins, are on the left and right. Above the display is the Full HD webcam, which also enables logging in via Windows Hello with an additional infrared camera.
Despite the slim design, Lenovo hasn’t skimped on the battery and specifies the capacity at 75 watt-hours, which the manufacturer claims should provide around 15 hours of runtime when playing 1080p videos.
OLED displays and Intel Alder Lake
Further highlights of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i’s features are the OLED displays in 16:10 format. The screen has a diagonal of 14 inches and a brightness of 400 nits. However, Lenovo does not provide details about the brightness when displaying HDR content. In return, the DCI-P3 color space is completely covered.
You can choose between a higher resolution or a faster refresh rate, because the displays are optionally available with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and 90 Hz or with 4K, but only with a maximum frame rate of 60 hertz.
In terms of the CPU, there is a choice between the Intel Core i5-1240P and the Intel Core i7-1280P, which Lenovo provides with 16 GB or 32 GB LPDDR5 working memory with a clock rate of 5600 MHz. The built-in NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD has a capacity of between 512 GB and 1 TB.
Of course, the compact case only offers limited space for the ports. Accordingly, “only” three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and a combined 3.5 mm jack are offered. The 9i communicates wirelessly via WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1.
Price and availability
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i is supposed to find its way into German stores in July 2022. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 1,899 Euros.
