Lenovo Yoga series: models announced for 2023

Besides Thinkpad and Ideapad, the Yoga series is probably the best-seller par excellence from Lenovo. Now, the PC manufacturer has presented the eighth generation of its stretchable and compact notebooks. The latest Lenovo Yoga series is supposed to score especially with fresh, powerful hardware.

Lenovo Yoga 7 and 7i

The 7 series makes the start. The heart of Lenovo’s Yoga 7i is a 13th generation Intel CPU. Alternatively, you can also opt for a Ryzen 7000 from AMD if you choose the Yoga 7. The processor is supported by a maximum of 16 GB of RAM. A real highlight is the display. The OLED screen has a resolution of 2.8K.

Lenovo doesn’t just emphasize the high-contrast, high-resolution image, though. Thanks to a DCI-P3 color accuracy of 100 percent, creatives should be able to enjoy high color fidelity, which is especially advantageous when editing pictures and video. As befits a Yoga notebook, the screen can be flipped 360 degrees. This way, you can turn the convertible into a tablet.

More power comes in Pro models

In addition to the conventional Lenovo Yoga 7 and 7i, the Pro models are also coming. These are supposed to impress especially with their hardware power. Lenovo not only offers the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 and 7i, but also the Pro 9i. The Ryzen 7000 CPUs are also available for the Pro 7. A Ryzen R7-7840HS is supposed to run under the hood in the top configuration. In contrast, the 7i and 9i rely on Intel CPUs, whereby the top model comes with Intel Core i7-13705H. In the Pro models, up to 64 GB of RAM should then be able to be configured as a helping hand at the processor’s side.

When it comes to graphics power, Lenovo leaves nothing to chance. The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7, 7i and 9i come optionally with GeForce 4050, 4060 or even 4070. You have to make slight concessions in terms of the panel. An IPS panel is used, which cannot compete with the OLED in terms of contrast and color reproduction. However, a resolution of 3K, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 400 nits should make up for that for many users. The Pro models are optionally available in 14.5 or 16 inches.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 6 and 7

Put it in your backpack and go to work or on vacation? Lenovo’s Yoga Slim 6 and 7 are supposed to be ideal for that. The two ultra-light notebooks weigh a maximum of 1.39 kg and measure a maximum thickness of 15 mm. Thus, they are hardly noticeable in a backpack. But appearances are deceptive.

In fact, despite the ultra-light design, the two notebooks are supposed to offer respectable performance. For one, you get an AMD CPU from the Ryzen 7000 series. This is supported by 32 GB of RAM. AMD hardware in the form of an AMD Radeon graphics unit is also supposed to provide graphics performance. For the optional 14 or 14.5-inch display, you can opt for a high resolution of up to 2.8K.
