LG K50S and K40S Smartphones Bring High-End Features into the Midrange

LG has already introduced the new K50s and K40s smartphones in the run-up to the IFA 2019 International Consumer Electronics Fair. These smartphones bring functions that are otherwise only available in the G and V model series to the middle class. LG has concentrated on the camera and display equipment, which are the most important purchasing arguments for many customers.

Components so far only partially published

Which components the two new Smartphones possess LG has so far only partially published. The SoC is a 2.0 GHz octa core that is highly likely to come from Qualcomm due to a recent licensing agreement. The LG K50s has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory and 4,000mAh of battery capacity. The LG50s has only 2 GB RAM and a 3,500 mAh battery. Both devices also have a fingerprint on the back.

The LG K50s has a main camera with 13 megapixels and autofocus, a super wide angle camera with 5 megapixels and a depth sensor with 2 megapixels, while the LG K40s only has a dual camera without the depth sensor. According to LG, both models are the first in the K-series to be particularly suitable for landscape and group photography, as they are the first to feature a wide-angle lens. In addition, both smartphones have an identical front camera with 13 megapixel resolution.

FullVision display with HD resolution

The displays of the two smartphones are also identical except for the diagonal, which is 6.5 inches for the K50s and 6.1 inches for the K40s. In both cases, LG speaks of a FullVision display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution. With the exception of a small notch for the front camera, both smartphones have a pleasantly narrow frame for the middle class.

Android 9.0 Pie is used as the operating system. In Germany, the devices in black (New Aurora Black) and blue (New Moroccan Blue) will be launched on the market in November. The LG K50s costs 199 Euro, the LG K40s costs 159 Euro.
