nubia Flip 5G: Foldable at an affordable price to be launched soon

At MWC 2024 in Barcelona, manufacturer nubia unveiled the Flip, an exciting foldable smartphone that is set to rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 or the competition from Motorola, especially thanks to its affordable price. Now the nubia Flip 5G launch is also being announced for Europe: April 09 at 13:00 is the day.

nubia Flip 5G: Affordable foldable with good features

Foldable smartphones are extremely popular. But they are usually also quite expensive. Manufacturer nubia wants to change this with the nubia Flip 5G, which was presented at MWC 2024 and, according to the teaser website that has now been launched, will also be launched in Europe in just one week.

If the planned price of 599 US dollars is also applied to the European market, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series and the Motorola Razr series will have an exciting competitor. But even at a price of 699 euros, the foldable would be an exciting alternative.

To achieve this low price, nubia is equipping the Flip 5G with the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of system memory. Alternatively, there are configurations with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB system memory.

The AMOLED main display has a screen diagonal of 6.9 inches with a frame rate of 120 Hz, while the round AMOLED on the outside measures 1.43 inches and can be equipped with various widgets. These include a music player, pedometer and timer.

nubia Flip 5G: Battery and camera

The Flip 5G also saves on the camera setup, as the affordable foldable smartphone does not have an ultra-wide-angle or telephoto camera. Instead, the manufacturer relies on a 50-megapixel main camera with an additional 2-MP depth sensor. The selfie camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels.

There is also a fingerprint sensor on the side and a 4,310 mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C at 33 watts. However, the Flip’s update policy is rather frugal.

It will apparently be delivered with Android 13, while the manufacturer spoke of a major system update and three years of security updates at the MWC 2024. However, we will find out more details at the nubia Flip 5G launch on April 9 at 13:00 German time.
