Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed: Successor of the popular gaming headset introduced

In 2019, Logitech released the G Pro X (our review), an excellent and not too expensive gaming headset that still enjoys enormous popularity today. Now they announced the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed, its wireless successor, which has a few exciting new features in store.

The Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed in detail

The most important new feature of the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed wireless gaming headset is the PRO-G GRAPHENE drivers with a 50mm Graphene diaphragm and live-edge suspension, which are said to produce a clear and immersive sound. In addition to improving the accuracy of sound reproduction, the new driver is said to improve signal timing while reducing distortion.

“The use of Graphene allows us to develop a driver that is incredibly stable and equally lightweight. This results in the high-fidelity sound with extremely low distortion that pro gamers* need to reach their full potential,” reveals Chris Pate, lead product manager for the Logitech G PRO Series.

A total of three connections are possible with the gaming headset: wireless via Bluetooth and LIGHTSPEED-Wireless, and wired via 3.5mm jack. The LIGHTSPEED technology offers a battery life of up to 50 hours and a range of up to 30 meters.

The design has remained largely the same, but there are a few improvements. For example, the ear cups can now be rotated, while the leatherette and velour ear pads are interchangeable and are supposed to offer even more comfort.

The 6mm cardioid microphone on a detachable boom is also supposed to enable especially clear communication, while the headset sound is supposed to convince with DTS Headphone:X 2.0 Surround Sound.

A frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz is covered, and that at 38 ohms impedance. The gaming headset is compatible with PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. On the consoles, however, there is only stereo sound.

Price and availability

The Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed wireless gaming headset is available now directly from the manufacturer, as well as from select retailers. The recommended retail price is 269 euros. More details can be found on the official product website.
