Netherlands: Radioactive 5G radiation protection bracelets banned

The new mobile communications standard 5G has been the subject of conspiracy narratives for several years: The beams are supposed to make people sick, allow mind control or manipulate people. The Dutch Radiation Protection Authority has now taken a look at ostensible protective bracelets against 5G radiation and found that some of these products pose the real danger.

Low-level radiation protection

With the rollout of the 5G network in the EU, there has been movement in the esoteric market: More and more companies are offering products that supposedly protect against 5G radiation and its alleged negative effects. Amulets, sleeping masks or bracelets are offered. Some of these bracelets have now been investigated by the Dutch Radiation Protection Authority because they work with ionizing radiation. The inspection has revealed that some of the products contain radioactive substances.

According to the authority, the amount of radioactive radiation is low overall; however, especially if the wristbands are used for a long time, damage to health cannot be ruled out, which is why it is strongly advised against using the products in question. Since the products are made for continuous use, an overall critical radiation exposure is by no means excluded. In addition to the warning, a sales ban was issued for a total of ten products. Some of these were aimed specifically at children.
