POCO M3 Pro 5G achieves top performance in its price class

POCO has introduced its new smartphone, the POCO M3 Pro 5G. With the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, it achieves a top performance that is looking for competition in its price range.

New dimensions

POCO has already been manufacturing smartphones as an independent brand of Xiaomi for three years. The whole already very successful, so the company has already been able to sell 13 million smartphones by the end of February this year. After the successful launch of the M3, the M3 Pro 5G is now coming out. It is supposed to provide a first-class performance and entertainment experience.

The M3 Pro 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor, which offers very good performance. With 5G dual-SIM support and the 90 Hz display, the power consumption is optimized so that it can achieve an extremely long battery life. The long battery life is also achieved by the 7nm processing technology. The chip features an advanced octa-core CPU architecture and works with two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores that deliver up to 2.2 GHz.

For added power density, the CPU has been paired with the Mali-G57 GPU. This is a new GPU architecture that also offers a 30 percent improvement in power efficiency. With the new UFS 2.2 storage technology, the chipset makes the M3 Pro 5G a high-performance smartphone. Whether video files or graphics-intensive games, that loading and also playing is effortless.

90 Hz Full-HD+ Display

The processor of the M3 Pro 5G is supported by a 90 Hz Full-HD+ display, which enables a fast display and an optimized gaming experience. An upgrade from the Dot Drop to a DotDisplay has still been made to the predecessor model. With the DynamicSwitch function, the display can automatically switch between the different refresh rates of 90 Hz, 60 Hz, 50 Hz or 30 Hz. This adapts the refresh rate to the content and optimizes the smartphone’s power consumption.

Thereby, the 6.5-inch FHD+ display resolves in 1080P and has two light sensors on the front and back. These sensors enable 360° light detection. Thus, the display precisely switches back and forth between 4096 brightness levels for perfect readability.

48 MP camera and 5,000 mAh battery

Adding to the perfect all-around experience is the triple camera array with a 48-megapixel main camera and a 2-MP macro camera. These are supported by a 2 MP depth sensor. With the main camera, clear and detailed pictures can be taken even in low-light conditions. In addition, there is a whole range of software features for the camera, such as time-lapse video, burst mode to take many photos within seconds, and night mode. This expands the possible uses and makes the M3 Pro 5G a great companion for photography and also videography.

So that all the technical highlights can be used, the smartphone is supported by a 5,000 mAh battery. This is supposed to last for more than two days. If it does run out, the battery can be fast-charged again in no time at all with 18W (22.5W charger included).

Unique design

To ensure that the M3 Pro 5G feels really good in the hand, the typical smartphone design has been dispensed with. The back of the M3 Pro is ergonomic and curved in 3D, in addition, attention was paid to a high-quality look of the smartphone. The screen-to-body ratio of the M3 Pro is 91 percent and thus achieves a very good user experience. Numerous features have also been included for user-friendliness. Among others, NFC, IR blasters and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Availability and Prices

The new POCO M3 Pro 5G is available now in three different colors (POCO Yellow, Power Black, and Cool Blue) at an Early Bird price of €159.90 for the 4GB+64GB variant and a price tag of €179.90 for the 6GB+128GB variant. From May 27, 2021, the usual price of 199.90 Euros or 229.90 Euros will be due.
