Rumor: iPhone 14 price rises above 1,000 euros for affordable model

According to a new rumor, the iPhone 14 price is increasing significantly. Experts assume that even the low-priced model of the new Apple smartphone could go up by more than $100. Converted, we could have to pay a price of over 1,000 euros in this country in the fall.

As Daniel Ives, tech industry analyst at Wedbush Securities, revealed to the British newspaper The Sun, the iPhone 14 price is likely to rise significantly. Ives expects the new Apple smartphone, which is expected to launch in September 2022, to be $100 more expensive than its predecessor.

At the time, the iPhone 13 was offered last year on September 24 for 899 euros or 799 U.S. dollars. Due to the depreciation of the euro against the U.S. dollar, the starting price for the iPhone 14 could be more than 1,000 euros.

According to Ives, prices have risen throughout the production chain and Apple will have to pass these costs on to customers this year. Suppliers such as chip manufacturer TSMC have had to raise their prices several times in recent months. Added to this is the rise in inflation.

Industry insider Ben Wood assumed to The Sun, however, that a price increase may be possible, but Apple could still decide against passing it on to the end consumer.

iPhone prices are changing

The iPhone 12 had launched in 2020 with 64 GB of system memory for around 899 euros, but at the time it was 876.30 euros due to the temporary reduction in VAT. Apple launched its successor, iPhone 13, last year only with at least 128 GB of storage, but at a similar price of 899 euros.

If the new model is again offered with this minimum storage configuration, prices of 999 Euros or more are considered quite realistic. An iPhone 14 Mini is not planned for this year, but Apple is supposedly planning a new and bigger iPhone 14 Max that will be offered alongside the two Pro models.

According to rumors from the beginning of the year, these will offer a pill-shaped punch hole, while possibly a SIM card slot could be omitted. However, all that is still unclear. What is clear, however, is that the new operating system iOS 16 will be available at release with exciting new features.

How high the iPhone 14 price will ultimately be, we will know in September at the latest, when Apple presents its new smartphone model series to the public. At the moment, the iPhone 13 still costs 815.00 Euros at Amazon.
